I recorded Angel Delgadillo and his daughter Clarissa for a recent episode of Illuminated on BBC Radio on Route 66 - ‘Where the Distance Shimmers’. Starting in the pharmaceutical industry, Melisa changed paths to focus on natural and holistic alternative healing methods and never stopped. Today, her business ventures are the culmination of all her experience and passion for well-being and health: nutritionist, genomics, pharmaceutical, sound baths, and more- she works to help people live better, healthier lives.

We recorded on the rocks closer to Stanley Market. The sound had a different quality here as her gong was more diffused in the openness of the site, but still held its drama. Melisa's technique is constant and pulsing, pushing and pulling you- mimicking the swirling ocean below. The mesmerizing drama is lifted when she plays her chime harp and we are gently exhaled into calmness. Our next recording will be inside the tea shop she is partnered with that specializes in Pu'er teas gathered from ancient trees.
