MÖWE is a recently founded project by the Vienna based artists Mel and Clemens, who previously played together in the band Mary lost her Pathos. While the duo’s indie roots still shine through in the song writing, MÖWE’s sound is largely electronic and best described as melodious and emotionally uplifting. Here, on SVT119, they present two of their outstanding productions, while Björn Störig contributes a beefy remix. 	

The title track ‘Inside’ focuses on harmonic piano and guitar hooks that float over a bouncing beat and crisp percussion. As the duo’s heartbreakingly beautiful vocals climax in a bass-driven chorus, we find ourselves lost in a sea of bewitching sound. ‘Seven Days’ is then introduced by delayed vox and drops into an airy arrangement backed-up by Mel and Clem’s longing voices. Stunning! Lastly, SVT mainstay Björn Störig gives ‘Seven Days’ the dance floor treatment by pitching down the original’s vocals and laying them over an elastic deep house bassline.

The first release of the new year has to be a special one, with 2014 being no exception. After strong EPs on Light my Fire and various remixes, Dan Caster presents an absolute treat on Stil vor Talent, his ‘Bleeding’ EP. 	

The title track kicks things off: here, Benjamin Franklin’s soulful voice carries us through a sea of dub chords, which slowly build into an emotionally charged climax. Kyodai’s remix then offers itself as an ode to classic deep house, as one encounters warming piano keys and saxophone sounds in perfect harmony with the original’s vocals. For ‘Nouvelle Future’ Dan enlists Björn Störig. It’s instantly obvious that the pair is a good match; their organic sunset-house is made for those epic dance-floor moments. Aided by a driving groove, Oliver Schories then accentuates the guitar and vocal elements of the original to great effect. Next up, Dan delivers an outright party-starter in the form of ‘Freaky, Noisy’, which, lastly, KANT reworks with a nod to electro for good measure.

KANT translates to "edge" from Danish, referring to something unconventional, exciting and new, which doesn’t immediately fit inside a box and dares to be different. These characteristics perfectly sum up the music of young Copenhagen producer Joachim Schaarup-Jensen. After causing waves with releases on Katermukke, Suara and Kittball, we welcome KANT to Light my Fire with the excellent ‘Switch’ EP. 	

The title track ‘Switch feat. Anne Kim Thordson’ is a chugging house monster that focuses on a seductive female spoken-word accentuated by heavy hits, ominous synths and a pumping kick drum: reduced, yet lethal. Next, ‘Shook’ is more laidback as it revolves around a tropical Balearic theme with impressive flow. On their ‘Switch’ remixes, Artenvielfalt opt for a jazz-infused drum intro, which drops into a peak-time deep house groove to dazzling effect, while Kreature delivers an old school workout of 303-goodness. Danish dynamite!

The second part of the „Diorama“ remixes offers again some of the finest producers around. Starting with Kollektiv Turmstrasse! What kicks off as a Chez Damier groove makes the transition into a loose dub monster. Collecting traces of the original sound and dispersing them with magic movements we see why Kollektiv Turmstrasse are a top act. Shifting the attention from the front to the far back from the obvious to the abstract... Turmstrasse create that parallel groove on top of the groove which seems to tighten up with every minute. Fine particles of sounds are sprayed onto the relentless groove and make it a real crowd pleaser.

Marc DePulse already convinced with the first part of his album &gt;Lessons in Dub&lt; and thereby thrilled many listeners. Now, the young thoroughbred musician from Leipzig steps it up a notch, presenting his second release which is a sophisticated mesh of melodies, harmonies, emotions and cleverly worked out sound structures, rendering a special touch to the dub techno.
