Torture the Artist - your source for contemporary electronic music

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.

CO-Fondateur du bar l'Atelier des Sons à Annecy au milieu des années 2000. Dj house et techno depuis 1999, il est influencé par Laurent Garnier pour son éclectisme et sa sélection musicale et en garde une trace dans ses sets. Il mixe uniquement sur vinyles qu'il considère comme un héritage des premières heures de la musique techno. Aujourd'hui basé à Lausanne en Suisse, il revendique à jamais l'influence de son premier disquaire, Franck alias Dj Paton. Créateur en 2021 du concept "ELECTRORAMA" conçu comme une émission de radio et diffusé en live sur Instagram puis SoundCloud, il évolue vers une soirée résidente du Folklor Club de Lausanne en 2022 avec des invités comme Cosmo Vitelli ou Mr.Ho notamment.

A strange project with undefined lines. Born in the year 2019 with a new project formally by a single person but with an open space, sometimes GERUNDI doubles in duet looking for new forms of compositions that should never have contamination from the outside world because they are the result of a rather internal world that can be shared. In the future, research will be a constant feature of this project.

Uno strano progetto dalle linee indefinite. Nato nell'anno 2019 con un nuovo progetto formalmente di una sola persona ma con uno spazio aperto, a volte GERUNDI raddoppia in duetto alla ricerca di nuove forme compositive che non dovrebbero mai avere contaminazioni dal mondo esterno perché frutto di un mondo piuttosto interiore che può essere condiviso. In futuro, la ricerca sarà una costante di questo progetto.
