‘For home use only’ is an anti-club social, a chance to get to know someone/something. A series of transmissions purely dedicated to exploring the other side.

Another 8760 hours have passed yet again, another full lap around the sun, another new year upon us... And what comes with this new year, for I know not, nor do I want to. It is, although a good time to realign, reassess, reevaluate, and appreciate the opportunity to do so. Our sound-tracker for this sectional period is from all the way in Ukraine, and he goes by the name of Sid-Nine aka Anton Potieriaiko. 

I don’t know much about Sid, just that he’s a young guy with exceptional musical taste, an amazing result of what this series has evolved into. Sid sent me some mixes a few months ago, and very kindly asked if he could contribute. After listening to them, I hurriedly replied with a big fat ‘yes please!’, and here we are. It fills me with immense pride that this series has reached the other side of the world and given someone the motivation to truly dive deep into their own existence and produce something so pure. Especially when your country is forcibly participating in a war that shouldn’t be happening. 

This has been an absolute pleasure to listen to over and over for the past few weeks, I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get sick of this mix. The talent that Sid puts on display in this two-hour stint is nothing short of amazing, each arch so perfectly placed, each mix so perfectly executed, each twist so rich, each turn so precise. The sheer wealth of musical knowledge intertwined throughout the mix is astounding, all rolled up in ethereal euphoria and soaked in rhythm overnight. Progressively paced-out house music, steeped street soul, splinters of future pop, deep space synth, milk bar ambient folk, converging harmoniously to create something magical. This kid truly gets it, and I know damn well he will use these powers for good. Sit on the couch, and reach for the lasers.

Знову минуло ще 8760 годин, ще одне повне коло навколо сонця, ще один новий рік перед нами... І що прийде з цим новим роком, бо я не знаю і не хочу знати. Це, хоч і сприятливий час для перебудови, переоцінки, переоцінки та оцінки можливості зробити це. Наш саунд-трекер для цього розділового періоду – з усієї України, і його звуть Сід-Найн, він же Антон Потеряйко.

Я мало знаю про Сіда, лише те, що він молодий хлопець із винятковим музичним смаком, дивовижний результат того, у що перетворився цей серіал. Кілька місяців тому Сід надіслав мені кілька міксів і дуже люб’язно попросив, чи може він зробити свій внесок. Вислухавши їх, я поспішно відповів великим «так, будь ласка!», і ось ми тут. Мене сповнює величезна гордість, що ця серія досягла іншого кінця світу і дала комусь мотивацію по-справжньому зануритися у власне існування та створити щось таке чисте. Особливо, коли ваша країна вимушено бере участь у війні, якої не повинно бути.

Це було справжнє задоволення слухати знову і знову протягом останніх кількох тижнів, я чесно кажучи, не думаю, що мені коли-небудь набридне цей мікс. Талант, який Сід демонструє в цьому двогодинному виступі, не що інше, як дивовижний, кожна арка настільки ідеально розміщена, кожен мікс настільки ідеально виконаний, кожен поворот такий насичений, кожен поворот такий точний. Величезне багатство музичних знань, переплетених у всьому міксі, вражає, усе згорнуте в ефірну ейфорію та просякнуте ритмом протягом ночі. Прогресивна хаус-музика, стріт-соул, уламки майбутньої поп-музики, глибокий космічний синтезатор, ембієнт-фолк молочного бару, які гармонійно зливаються, створюючи щось чарівне. Цей хлопець справді це розуміє, і я чудово знаю, що він використає ці здібності назавжди. Сядьте на диван і потягніться до лазерів.

2019/09/08 - Eupen | Music selected by Tako, recorded live at the Heuboden / dublab Sleepless Floor at Meakusma Festival 2019.

In September 2019 the Meakusma Festival took place in Eupen / Belgium for the 4th time, celebrating the unclassifiable through music, installations and lectures. Once again dublab set up shop at the Heuboden of “Alter Schlachthof”,  commited to create a cozy safe haven for all visitors from far and near, driven by respect for each other and a mutual love for the arts. 

In this surrounding a handpicked selection of live-acts and DJs from the musical cosmos of Meakusma and dublab shared amazing music all weekend long and was embraced by a gentle and highly attentive  audience. Top times!
