Cosmic Boys of Montpellier, France are rapidly infiltrating the French techno scene and have seeped into North American territory with this new EP titled “I Don’t Care.” Their debut EP on refused. features infectious grooves, modulated vocals, deep basslines, and crisp percussions. “Origin” features pronounced hi-hats, a dark, groovy bassline, thunderous claps, and manipulated satanic vocals. Title track “I Don’t Care” grows on a deep, down-tempo bassline, and a filtered kick. Spacey effects and ominous chopped up vocals give the track density and mind-blowing energy. “Together” kicks the energy back into high gear as a strongly pronounced kick leads us into the last original track of the EP. Winding synths, and reverberated claps give this track motion. The EP also features a dark, rolling techno remix of “I Don’t Care” from Russian producer Ricky Ebner.

Batten down the hatches! A storm's a coming and it's brewing right from the heart of Carlo Ruetz' Mecklenburg HQ. Chasing recent tornados on Matador's Ruckus and Oliver Huntemann's Senso Sounds, it's a tempestuous whirlwind of melodic highs, breath-taking lows and an energy Carlo has made his signature, and it's heading our way via MOOD.

'Stormer' marks the initial clap of thunder. Intense, high pressure and full of electrical energy that becomes more turbulent as the track breaks down. 'Stormer' by name, storming by nature. 'Kolaps' maintains the wreckage with its rolling kicks and inclement bass while sunlight pierces the darkness in the form of lingering synth strikes that twist and turn unpredictably.

'Silence' is the eye of the storm. A more stripped-back drum arrangement allows for a creepier, pensive sense of atmosphere thanks to cascading melodic hooks while 'Surrender' plays the consummate grand finale. A thumping dark groove hurricane that gathers more and more momentous as the track develops, this storm is not set to pass any time soon.

Hatches battened, storm gates locked. Expect more lightning strikes from Carlo very very soon…

MOOD054 2. Carlo Ruetz - Kolaps

US producer SHADED brings his signature vibe to the Senso imprint, and seems to instantly fit right in. The two track release gives the Californian born-and-raised artist the opportunity to share his slightly twisted take on techno with a new audience, and he does not disappoint. First up is 'Rippple' - a tough and muscular technoid workout with biting claps, shuffling percussion and a wonky bassline. It’s tight as a drum production wise, but gives off an unhinged atmosphere from start to finish. Similarly the second track 'Sumbody' manages the same feat. The rising and falling arpeggiated synth line, moving in and out of the mix brings a disorienting presence, underpinned by a driving, pulsating rhythm track. This is techno at its most celebratory.

SUB049 is the welcoming of Argentina's DIKRON & France's Koschka who team up to collaborate and  deliver this 2 track Ep entitled 'In Your Eyes'. 
Both tracks stand out for us, In Your Eyes is an absolute rolling groover with eery synths, crispy tight percussion, perfectly timed horns and stabs,  and a fantastic rolling bass.
On the flip side we have Navigator which is a little tougher on the ears, with lovely warm drums and percussion,  suitable for a warm up or the more peak time twisted hour.
