My entry to the remix comp last year. I had a lot of fun making this and it's had a lot of support from some lovely folks in the Bristol scene. Thought it'd be a nice one to give away to celebrate tipping over the 500 Soundcloud followers milestone.

Since South Yard started as a music label in 2015, we have come a long way. We have edited music from more than 50 artists and have opened ourselves to different genres of Drum & Bass than we had in mind at the beginning of this project. That’s why we’re excited to present you with this compilation that brings together the best of what represented us in our early days, jungle and dubwize. Those were the days!

We remember when we started, everything was new and exciting. We didn’t know what the future held, but we were eager to find out. And here we are, years later, with a playlist that represents the best of our early days. There are songs from then and now, but we will always remember with fondness the jungle and dubwize, which opened the doors to the world for us.
It’s amazing how time flies, isn’t it?

a new chapter is starting right now. As you probably know I started my new music project a while ago. 

I wanted to create something special and took my time. I had a unique sound in my mind. Something that doesn't exist. 

Now I think I’ve found the right path.

Total XTC fires us through a prism of late 80s nostalgia with pitched-up soulful vocal samples from Charvoni’s feel-good classic house groover ‘Always There’. Dreamy pads and playful vintage notes set the scene. Soothingly sustained vocals swim over raw, metallic, jungle-infused drums that introduce the sub-destroying drop. A certified rave anthem that will have all the heads entranced.

‘War Dance’ raises adrenaline as Manchester-based Truthos Mufasa lays down slick and weighty bars that ricochet off skippy old skool-style drums right in the eye of the storm. Introduced to jungle at an early age by his influential uncle Stoppy, Unglued demonstrates his ability to simultaneously stick and unpick these roots in his powerfully dynamic ‘Total XTC’ EP by fusing the old-skool style with his unique, forward-thinking flair.
