Shoreless Continuum w/ Seul Ensemble (20/09/24)

For my new show, I will be diving in a shoreless sonic continuum. 
Once every two months I&amp#39;ll be on my own, trying to draw connections between genres, eras, intentions, or even feelings, to emphasize what appears to me as logical relations between sounds. From &ampquot;Gorillaz-type beats&ampquot; to Torchouze Disco, I&amp#39;ll try to suggest a sensitive approach to mixing.
Every other months, I will be joined by friends and foes from around the continuum, to get their perspective on how they approach and deal with their own sensitive listening.

This month, I&amp#39;m taking you on an exploration of the controversial and unloved genre that is black metal, but without playing any of it. For this thesis, I tried to identify the key emotions of this music, such as depression, violence, extreme sadness, resilience, folklore. I then located these emotions inside other tracks of other genres, and arranged them together to issue some kind of a blueprint for black metal. I&amp#39;m obviously talking the whole time. Enjoy !

This is a piece I did for the french radio France Culture. 
I wanted to test the resistance of our hearing by destroying, altering and mixing together some easily recognizable sounds with my own creations.
The result is something like a strange dj set, where you get lost in between meaningless stabs of sounds and horrific abstract atmospheres.

Politics of the Dance Floor: Reset

Number twenty-eight in the Birds series is by Ziggi D’Agostino which is an alter ego of Lithuanian writer, artist and performer Zygimantas Kudirka. 
Every DJ set of his is a journey through many genres from different regions in search for the contemporary psychedelic sound that sometimes is achieved by messing around with pitch and effects or playing multiple tracks at once. No exception is this hour long futuristic klang symphony he rocorded for the series. Helmets on - dive in!
