Martin Kinrus is a Producer, sound designer and DJ from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Backing up releases on Octopus Recordings, Set About, Phobos Records and several others, Martin now opens his account with Victor Ruiz’s burgeoning VOLTA imprint, delivering an impressive dose of energetic avant-garde techno prowess across four tracks that make up his ‘Cosmic Energy’ EP.

Leading with the title track, ‘Cosmic Energy’ is a pacy ethereal number with rippling bass tones and sweeping melodic textures from start to finish. Its hypnotic vocal hook and pulsating synths blend seamlessly into several atmospheric breaks and harrowing drops to carve out a gripping peak-time weapon. ‘Invincible’ comes next, bringing more interplanetary vibes from the outset. Another captivating exhibition of racy melodic-focused Techno crammed with gritty resonance and coarse electronic creativity, its tight drums and crisp percussive drive make the perfect match for its rich tapestry of musicality.

‘Do It Yourself’ is another dark and dreamy number from Kinrus, built around thick drum grooves, fizzing hat grooves and roughened harmonies. Blending punchy rhythms with endless layers of intricately woven synths and processed vox samples, it carries an uplifting vocal presence on top of its largely danceable core. ‘Simulation’ closes the release with a breathtaking statement piece, ushered in by a gripping cinematic intro before gliding through a sea of storytelling free-form electronic production - offering something a little different to showcase Martin’s artistic side.

Swirling within the coiled serpent's tail stands a portal portraying a shimmering expanse of sun-scorched savannah. Seemingly devoid of animate life, only a scant few acacia trees provide shelter for any would-be traveler beneath the heat of the blood-red star that shines above. In the vision before you, even the very ground seems to be scarred by the searing temperature that emanates from the mouth of the portal. The land within is barren, pockmarked as the skin of one who has been touched by roaring flame. At one time, perhaps, some water did flow here, but the remnants of its course are covered in a glassy filament that is baked into the sand below. 

This exsanguinated artery of the land stands before you as the sole path through this hostile world that the Vision Serpent presents. Oft is it said amongst questing adventurers that the harshest of landscapes hold the greatest of treasures, the secrets that may have brought them to ruin or the knowledge capable of restoring them to their former glory. The portal lies open before you - will you accept the Serpent’s searing trial and venture forth into the world of the blood-red sun?

Following in quick succession to their debut release, VISION SERPENT now presents GEORGI Z’s “BAD INFLUENCE EP” as the second locale within the label’s interdimensional survey of myriad sonic lands. Shadow Wulf emerged at the beginning of 2020 as the ferociously dark cub of existing House and Techno label Wulfpack. The new sister label was founded by producers Aaron Jacobs, Crescendoll (Erin Parisi), and Drew Blyther when they recognized an opportunity to fill a void in LA’s underground scene. Thanks to Shadow Wulf, the Dark Psytechno / Minimal Techno sounds more popular overseas have found their place in the den of Southern California. The founders have set out to collaborate with producers from around the world and provide a twisted auditory landscape for a global audience.
