The age of sonic medicine continues to unfold in the shape of Poranguí and Liquid Bloom’s landmark curative music collection, ‘Kuya Sessions: Cura.’ Created as an aural container for the cutting-edge frontiers of psychedelic-assisted therapy, this extrasensory journey invites listeners to cross the threshold into the realm of shadow and light, uniting the principles of indigenous wisdom, plant medicine, and holistic psychology with the world-bridging potential of cinematic sound design.

Designed for Kuya, a state-of-the-art health clinic in Austin, TX that is incorporating paradigm-shifting therapeutics, integrative psychiatry, and regenerative medicine into a visionary approach to trauma processing and healing, ‘Cura’ offers seekers a soundtrack for their journeys toward rebalancing, and is now lovingly shared with listeners everywhere on behalf of Kuya and producers Amani Friend and Poranguí.

Embedded with the sonic signature of the world’s oldest musical lineages and enhanced with field recordings and samples from across the globe, ‘Kuya Sessions: Cura’ is best experienced in its “Journey Mix” format, where the boundaries between movements are as ephemeral as the voyage itself. In preparation for embarking on this ritualistic path, one is invited to create an environment for inner-exploration with the help of a quiet and dark room, headphones, an eye mask, and an intention of healing and discovery. 

The first installment in this four-part release series, ‘Cura’ draws upon a grounding array of instruments, vocalizations, and therapeutic musical stylings while showcasing Poranguí and Amani Friend’s tenacity for surreal, multi-dimensional sound. This is a recording of a set of singing bowls.  The root bowl is C#, the Aum tone or Earth tone.  The other bowls are harmonized with the Chakras in this scale.

These types of singing bowls have been used since ancient times in meditations and healing work.  They are traditionally made with 7 metals representing the 7 planets that the tibetan monks were aware of at the time.  The bowls produce monaural beats and harmonic overtones that affect body and mind on a deep level.  The bowl set here is based on the Earth tone.  This is also known as "Om" and is the calculated sound signature of the Earth as it travels around the sun. In Indian music this is also called the Sadja. The corresponding bowls were matched according to the Chakra system in Ayurvedic medicine.  This also corresponds roughly with the western major scale.

Sahuna Love (Founder of Shaman's Dream) is a Multi-percussionist, DJ, Music Producer, Medicine Ceremony Facilitator, and Healing Arts Practitioner. Sahuna is inspired by the spiritual musical lineages from around the globe and the healing power of the drum. Every Shaman's Dream offering is a ceremony and opportunity for all who receive the music to create an intention and prayer for their own lives, utilizing the music as medicine.

Shaman’s Dream, Sahuna's multi-faceted music collective, has been at the forefront of the yoga, festival and ecstatic dance music scene, since 1995. As a producer and the musical director he's facilitated hundreds of ecstatic dance/ “live” world music concerts, plus countless live music for yoga classes and ritual retreats. Sahuna's other projects included being the co-founder of Yogitunes - www.yogitunes.com - an online digital music store that features a huge selection of yoga inspired music, Co-Producer of Ecstatic Dance Retreats, and co-producer of Desert Dwellers projects –Waves, Flames, Roots, and many other Downtempo music projects. 

As a percussionist, Sahuna has performed with countless music producers and performers such as: Porangui,  Bluetech, Desert Dwellers, Kaminanda, David Starfire, Yaima, FreQ Nasty, Jason Hann (EOTO& String Cheese), Isaac Chambers, Jai Uttal, Krishna Das, Dave Stringer, C.C. White, Donna De Lory, Tina Malia, Chris Berry and many others. 

Presently, Craig is performing and helping to produce/ stage manage for many of the transformational festivals and yoga/ ecstatic dance communities all over the world. Some events include– Lightning in a Bottle, Symbiosis, Beloved, Wanderlust, Envision, Imagine, Bhaktifest, Shaktifest, Joshua Tree Music Festival, Yoga Journal Conference, Etc...
