This is the first movement of a larger work named "Obelisk".  Obelisk is a piece about inner strength that holds us together in hard times.  I envision an ancient obelisk that has stood for thousands of years with no supports to hold it in place while more ornate temples have collapses under the ages from earthquakes, wars & any number of disasters yet they stand as a testament their own power.  We should all strive to stand strong like the Obelisk.  The larger work called Obelisk is one I'll composer over the course of my life showing the different stages of my existance & hope to imulate the ancient monuments that still stand.
