This project is crossed by fragments of skins that had been cultivated in order to make an image able to transform itself through time. 
The dismemberment of the skin is presented as a way of evicting materia. There’s a space-time irruption in which a state disorder is generated. The idea of gestation parts from the fragment. The body is broken, delivered. A body that no longer belongs, that was turned into a disfigured path that now manifests organically. 
The skin is dismembered in an emancipated gesture and from it emerges an infinity of other skins that will, together, turn into the core of the eternal movement.
Daniela Mata is a visual artist and tattooer born in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was formed as an engraver at the Universidad del Museo Social Argentino. In her late works, Daniela explores different kind of media and focusses on the intend of developing an image that is defined by the idea of movement. She crosses video-art and performance with the field of science. Experimenting with materia and incorporating live organisms into her works, such as blood, natural fibres, saliva, etc. in coexistence with synthetic materials, is how it’s spread the gestation of her own skins. 
The body that shapes Daniela’s work invokes the individual. Visceral and intimate images, which grow as a rhizome; images that multiply, intertwine, and overflow. Each piece emerges alive, and because of that, stands emancipated from the artist gesture.

A couple of years ago, the young italian producer known with the name of Shinoby got in touch with Parris Mitchell and started collaborating with him. In a very short time one of the tracks they wrote together was released along the remaster of "All Night Long"on Wicked Bass, and another one he wrote on the Juke Joints vol. 2 EP on Deepmoves.
ISTHEWAY is the name of the label he founded to release the music he has been producing in the shades of Verona, focusing on the music itself and not wasting time and efforts on fancy, superfluous stuff.
On the first release of the label, his lively and solid dancefloor oriented tracks has been remixed by The Analogue Cops (Restoration Records) and the detroiter MGUN (Underground Resistance) who have further modeled an essential combination of late night cuts with their trademark basement edge.

ISTHEWAY 003 will be released in the winter and remixed by the legend Jamal Moss aka Hieroglyphic Being.
He considers himself a child of many. Growing up in 1980s Chicago, he was a child of the city’s loft party heyday, pulled into the club scene by the grooves of Ron Hardy and Derrick Carter and kept there by the manic acid of Adonis and Steve Pointdexter. His key influence, though, is Sun Ra; the Afrofuturist jazz pioneer whose cosmic philosophies have permeated his own production work. For Moss, club space and headspace have merged into one.
His releases and the catalog of his label Mathematics Recordings have a cult following worldwide, but it didn’t happen overnight: with a DIY ethic and all-consuming passion, he’s been pounding the streets of Chicago as a foot soldier for House Music since the edge of the early 1990s.

I'm particularly proud to present the 4th ISTHEWAY release, which happens to be a cooperation for an exclusive, single-sided vinyl-only EP.


Barely avoiding a collision course, Shinoby and Hypnobeat keep a makeshift synchronised track on a forceful, agitated ride through a vast junkyard of hyperbole, hounded by a furious aurora that threatens to expose the shadow-casting and shade-loving construct to the light of grandeur while the protagonists' programming is on the verge of bursting at all seams of the grid and scatters dirty, feather-edged sounds galore along the endless trail of exhaustion. Nevertheless, from the beginning it is clear that all things pass into the night – the light, the speed, the sound, the matter, and so do those who follow with a curious and obsessive mind and a lust-shaken body.


Following a "neo-tribal" approach, James Dean Brown founded Hypnobeat in 1983. Evolving from the project, JDB formed Narcotic Syntax in 1995, a band he boosted together with Yapacc in 2003, with releases on Perlon, WIR and Prospector. After all, Hypnobeat retransformed from Narcotic Syntax and saw the exciting new evolution with Helena Hauff joining the project in 2013.


The duo's live performances are completely based on improvisation, exhausting the power of an untamed Roland horde which is unique on stage: 1 x TR-707 + 3 x TR-808 + 2x TB-303 + an array of effects = provocative percussion, voodoo passion, tribal ecstasy, hypnodelic temptation, psycho-exotic magic, universal resonance, and a quantum of danger under a crypto-bohemian approach.

The album includes the most direct and propulsive Shinoby material yet. 
There is a functional connection to dance music here, honing in on the celestial bliss's human element embedded within a sound fraught with inhumanity.
The music is emotional, hostile, dark, grungy, dissenting, acidic and energetic. Mostly based on repetitive patterns, the distorted yet perfectly balanced percussion drills through the concrete warehouse walls long into the night.
The not occasional use of distortion brings the dense atmosphere to near suffocating limits. 
Like life, pieces begin and end abruptly, sometimes in a harsh and jarring way.
"I frequently worry that being productive is the surest way to lull ourselves into a trance of passivity and busyness the greatest distraction from living" 
proclaims the text on the back of the album sleeve,
"as we coast through our lives day after day, showing up for our obligations but being absent from our selves, mistaking the doing for the being"
insistent and persistent, Shinoby doesn't stop.

We are particularly proud to present out milestone 10th release, which happens to be a reissue of an absolute ghetto house classic, Parris Mitchell & Reggie Hall's 'All Night Long'. First appearing back in 1995 on Dance Mania, the record sustained a true cult following, allowing quite a considerable bounty for it. An exclusive 2012 comeback track from Parris Mitchell feat SHINOBY himself named 'Bounce' (also found on side A) is thus somewhat a natural extension to the classic. 
Last but not least, we've also asked Bok Bok, the Night Slugs label boss and a huge fan of the original tune, to remix it. A truly impressive output in the form of both a vocal and a dub version adds something of a past view through the prism of modern tendencies.

Omar Contri aka Shinoby is back with a second audiovisual project with his label Istheway, this time in collaboration with the visual artist Sara Bonaventura, known for her experimental music videos, here processing a performance by Annamaria Ajmone, which has been screened in Manhattan Times Square ZAZ Gallery during the lockdown.
The piece, Diapason, will be released as very limited DVD edition, with an unreleased bonus version, a tribute to Donna Haraway’s A cyborg Manifesto.

ABOUT THE PRE-RECORDED AND PROCESSED PERFORMANCE
The choreography was drafted around as series of minimal movements, drawing linear yet dynamic movements in the surrounding space, which seems constantly morphing, in an artificial non-space designed by machines, where the inside morphs into the outside and vice versa, where two is one, where “one is not enough and two are too many” (DH) The body of the performer is a node, in a state of estrangement within the self, but so capable of creating an engaging sense, outside of the self. Resonating and tuning with the space surrounding it. 
ABOUT THE REAL TIME PROCESSING
The environment where this reenactment takes place is purely artificial, created with a wobulator, making tangible the exploration of boundaries and edges. “Figurations are performative images that can be inhabited. All language is figurative, that is. Made of tropes, constituted by bumps that make us swerve from literal-mindedness… imploded atoms or dense nodes that explode into the entire worlds of practice…” (DH)
The title Diapason recalls a sort of resonator; a wobulator, a portmanteau word of wobble and oscillator, a modified monitor first prototyped by Nam June Paik, has been used to process a new choreography, responding to pitches in the signal. The analog processing was possible through the support of Signal Culture, while in residence in their studios. Several vintage synthesizers were used, and in particular the legendary wobulator.

ABOUT THE SOUND DESIGN
The main oscillator's wave dances connected with the body. A cyborg voice strokes it. A melancholic loop refines it. 
Composed in a live session using only hardware & pedals and synched in with a visceral textures of electronics, a visceral touch which is rare in so much contemporary solo synthesiser music.
The result is a beautifully restrained yet oddly emotive soundtrack.
