Portland, OR based trans-global groove maniac GlobalRuckus scours the four corners of the earth for hot emerging electronic and traditional sonic gems and distills them into pan global dance frenzy elixirs. Specializing in Balkan beats, Arabic hiphop, nu-cumbia, electro swing, Tropical, bhangra, moombahton, and danchall with the added spices of banda, samba, kuduro, and any other culturally rich sounds that engage him, you're guaranteed a wild ride on the dancefloor with sets that range from high energy to slow and sensual. The last year and a half has seen him perform at a vast array of genre-bending events including Electro Swing Club - London, bass nights in Johannesburg and Beijing, tropical nights in Shanghai and Sydney, Balkan beats nights in Brussels, Vienna and Holland and many more at various festivals and events around the US including of course Black Rock City (Sacred Spaces, Hookah Dome, Root Society, Dustfish).

Born and raised in California, now-Hawaii-based ezwhip remembers with vivid clarity the exact moment he first heard the opening notes of Erasure’s “Who Needs Love Like That?,” launching a now 35-year-plus love affair with electronic music. His pioneering early 90s radio show Chillspace explored the nascent genre of ambient house, but it was turn-of-the-century Burning Man that dumped rocket fuel onto a burgeoning obsession with the broken beat. He gravitates towards high-vibe music with a visceral feel - grimy and grindy, bassy and bouncy. His mixes reflect a passion for a variety of styles and genres, weaving fresh sounds with properly-cellared bangers to inspire both old heads and new generations of bass-chasing, booty-shaking beat freaks.

Jeremy James Meyer is a creator. Give him a pile of wood, and he'll craft you a table; offer him a town in the back country, and he'll sculpt you a carnival; hand him a life of experiences, and he will meet them with wisdom and wit, and leave us all a legacy of music and poetry--a legacy which is just beginning to unfold. 
Jeremy's native musical modus is that of the guitar-toting storyteller (a la Prine, Van Zandt), but he is coming of age as a songwriter, and the bouquet of influences from the brilliant cast of artists with whom he collaborates has lent a richness to his style that continues to deepen with each new project. On his first releases, Jeremy Meyer and Los Banditos Cosmicos (2014 and 2015), we hear Jeremy close to home, among the oak trees and the pines. With his first studio LP, Jeremy James Meyer, (2018), he begins to challenge his own creative boundaries, with structures and arrangements on tracks like "53rd and Lockwood" and "Painted Hills" far more complex than anything we had heard from him before. Continuing to draw from the deep wells of artistic ingenuity in New Orleans, San Francisco, Portland, and the various other homes on his migratory path, Jeremy's latest album, Alive and OK showcases a refinement of his gifts in poetic, harmonic, and melodic composition supported by the most talented (and biggest) band Jeremy has ever had behind him. Never afraid to open his heart and share his juiciest love stories to a throng of strangers, Jeremy has been known to satisfy crowds for hours armed with only his six-string, whether they want to laugh, cry, or stomp their boots, and whether or not his fellow banditos are there to back him. As with his songwriting, Jeremy has been sharpening his skills as a performer, trekking all over the States as both frontman and sideman, notably playing with The Goodness, backing band to the blossoming singer-songwriter Caitlin Jemma. 

Don't sleep on this cat. Jeremy is weaving himself into the tapestry of new American folk music with an understanding that belies his twenty-something years. Invite him to perform in your town, and months later, you will likely still be telling stories of the party that followed, kicking back on the new porch deck that he built for you the day of the show.
