Старинная русская солдатская народная песня, возможно, появилась еще во время Отечественной войны 1812 года. Достоверно известно, что впервые она была исполнена в 1835 году на маневрах в Калишском лагере, причем исполнялась она на "кавказский манер", поэтому многие исследователи связывают происхождение песни с Кавказской войной 1817-1864 годов. Молодых неопытных солдат, впервые участвующих в лагерных маневрах, в песне называют "соколами", а им еще предстоит стать опытными "орлами", зрелыми воинами. Песня оставалась очень популярной в армии до 1917 года, но и в советское время ее пели в измененном виде (и, конечно, без строф о русском царе и православной вере. Кстати, в этой старой записи этих строф нету)

An old Russian soldiers' folk song, it had possibly appeared already during the Patriotic War of 1812. It is reliably known that it was first performed in 1835 at maneuvers in the Kalisz camp, and it was played in the "Caucasian manner", so that's why many researchers associate the origin of the song with the Caucasian War of 1817-1864. Young inexperienced soldiers, who are participating in camp maneuvers for the first time, are called "Falcons" in the song, and they yet have to become experienced "Eagles", the mature soldiers. The song remained very popular in the army until 1917, but even in Soviet times it was sung in a modified form (and, of course, without stanzas about the Russian Tsar and the Orthodox faith. By the way, those stanzas are not in this old recording)

Translation:
Falcons soar up like eagles!
Cast aside your grief and woe!
Better far beneath the banners,
In the field encamped we go.

There the city, white of linen,
Roars with voices like the sea,
Golden fire on copper cupolas
Shines with morning’s majesty.

There, as soon as dawn awakens,
Infantry begins to surge,

この歌は古いロシア兵の民謡であり、その起源は1812年の祖国戦争にまで遡る可能性がある。
確実に知られているのは、1835年、カリシュ野営地での演習で初めて歌われたということであり、その際「コーカサス風」に歌われたため、多くの研究者はこの歌の起源を1817〜1864年のコーカサス戦争に結びつけている。
歌詞では、初めて野営演習に参加する若い未熟な兵士を「鷹」と呼び、彼らはいずれ経験豊かな「鷲」、すなわち熟練の戦士となることが示される。
この歌は1917年まで軍隊で非常に人気があり、ソ連時代にも歌詞が改変され（ロシア皇帝や正教信仰を称える節は削除され）

舞い上がれ、若き鷹よ、やがて鷲となれ！

이 오래된 러시아 군가의 기원은 확실하지 않다. 일부는 1812년 조국전쟁 때 이미 불리기 시작했다고 보며, 확실한 기록으로는 1835년 칼리시 야영 훈련에서 처음 연주된 것이 전해진다. 당시 노래는 “캅카스 풍”으로 불렸기에, 많은 연구자들이 그 기원을 1817–1864년의 캅카스 전쟁과 연관 짓는다. 노래 속에서 처음 군사 훈련에 참가하는 젊고 미숙한 병사들은 “송골매(соколы)”라 불리며, 그들에게는 훗날 숙련된 “독수리(орлы)” — 무명의 전사로 거듭날 길이 기다리고 있었다. 이 노래는 1917년까지 러시아 군대에서 크게 사랑받았으며, 소비에트 시대에도 가사가 일부 변형된 형태로 불리곤 했다 (물론 차르와 정교 신앙에 관한 구절은 빠진 채였다).

솟아올라라, 송골매들이여, 독수리 되어,
슬픔은 이제 그만하라!

Дружина Ермака, состоявшая из вольных казаков, сыграла огромную роль в присоединении Сибири. В конце XVI века купцы-промышленники Строгановы наняли их, чтобы положить конец набегам татар Сибирского ханства. В отличие от казаков других казачьих войск, которые ведут свою родословную из глубины веков от вольных боевых дружин – “казачьей вольницы”, сибирские казаки с первого дня образования войска были на службе у Российского государства. Казачество сыграло выдающуюся роль в культурно-хозяйственном освоении Сибири: в 1586 году там был основан первый русский город – Тюмень, а в 1587 году – Тобольск. Территория первичного проживания казаков была обширной: от Южного Урала до Алтая, от тундры и тайги на Севере до степей и гор на юге в границах Тобольской, Западно-Сибирской и Томской губерний, Акмолинской области Степного края и Горно-Алтайского округа. К началу 1914 года казачье население Сибири составляло около 300 тыс. человек и проживало в 48 станицах и 123 поселках. После революции 1917 года и в годы Гражданской войны большинство из них поддержали сначала локальные выступления своих атаманов, а с ноября 1918 года и антибольшевистскую борьбу адмирала Александра Колчака – лидера всероссийского Белого движения.

A bit of history:
Ermak's druzhina, made up of free Cossacks, played a huge role in the annexation of Siberia. In the late 16th century, the merchant-industrialists Stroganovs hired them to put an end to raids by the Tatars of the Siberian Khanate. Unlike the Cossacks of other Cossack armies, who trace their lineage back to free fighting groups - "Cossack freedmen", the Siberian Cossacks were in the service of the Russian state from the first day of the army's formation. The Cossacks played an outstanding role in the cultural and economic development of Siberia: in 1586 the first Russian city Tyumen was founded there, and in 1587 Tobolsk. The territory of primary residence of the Cossacks was vast: from the Southern Urals to Altai, from tundra and taiga in the North to steppes and mountains in the South within the borders of Tobolsk, West Siberian and Tomsk provinces, Akmola region of the Steppe Territory and Gorno-Altaisk district. By the beginning of 1914 the Cossack population of Siberia amounted to about 300 thousand people and lived in 48 stanitsa and 123 settlements. After the revolution of 1917 and during the Civil War, most of them supported first local speeches of their atamans, and from November 1918 the anti-Bolshevik struggle of Admiral Alexander Kolchak, the leader of the All-Russian White Movement.

Markovites were renowned as the most restrained and cold-blooded warriors of the White Movement. The colors of their uniforms were black and white. Black color denoted mourning for the lost Russia, and white - the hope for its resurrection. They used a black flag with a white St. Andrew's Cross as their battle flag. The song mentions the following events from the history of the so-called Ice Campaign of the Volunteer Army: The battle for the village of Novodmitrievskaya (March 28-29, 1918), when only a thousand White Guards under the command of Markov in a snowstorm, crossing the river in a ford, captured the village, defended by three thousand red detachment.  The battle near Medvedovskaya village (April 2-3, 1918) - then the same thousand Whites defeated four thousand Bolshevik detachment supported by three armored trains, two of them were captured. 
In both battles, General Markov personally led the attack of his soldiers, showing not only bravery, but also leadership talent and resourcefulness.

Марковцы пользовались славой самых сдержанных и хладнокровных воинов Белого Движения. Цветами их обмундирования были чёрный и белый. Чёрный цвет обозначал траур по погибшей России, а белый — надежду на её воскрешение. В качестве боевого знамени ими использовался чёрный флаг с белым Андреевским крестом. В песне упоминаются следующие события из истории так называемого Ледяного похода Добровольческой армии:
Бой за станицу Новодмитриевскую (28—29  марта 1918), когда тысяча белогвардейцев под командованием Маркова в метель, переправившись через реку вброд, захватила станицу, обороняемую трёхтысячным красным отрядом. Бой под станицей Медведовской (2—3 апреля 1918) — тогда та же тысяча белых разгромила четырёхтысячный большевистский отряд, поддерживаемый тремя бронепоездами, при этом два из них были захвачены. 
В обоих боях генерал Марков лично возглавлял атаку своих солдат, проявив не только храбрость, но и полководческий талант и находчивость.
