Starting out in 2001 to tie up some loose ends from our regulars, SPEICHER has since become a guarantee for vanguard dance sounds from all over the planet, allowing KOMPAKT to invite and support electronic artists that comfortably inhabit both the delicate and the more deliberate ends of the electronic music spectrum. For SPEICHER 82, brothers in crime VOIGT & VOIGT deliver two mind-altering doses of psychotropic techno, doing what they do best and squeezing utmost impact out of most minimal arrangements.
Tapping into the more hallucogenic properties of techno. Wolfgang and Reinhard Voigt get back to knead the bodies and minds of the dancing crowd – while being quite upfront about their aesthetic goals. The bold and twitchy A-side SUPERPITCH does exactly that: riding the pitch, and riding it hard. Its incessantly morphing bell sounds are screwing with your sensory inputs, making you an easy prey for the cut's simple and effective beat 'n' bass patterns. However, the secret showstopper of this release might actually be the flipside's aptly named cut SUPERTRIP – a dramatic, string-laden techno journey that starts with a spartan, but heartily grinding bassline and soon evolves into a fully-fledged synth stomper. Turn on, tune in, space out!

Als Compilation-Reihe im Jahre 2001 gegründet um ein paar lose Fäden unserer Stammkünstler zu verknüpfen, hat sich SPEICHER inzwischen zu einem Garanten für fortgeschrittene Tanzklänge aus aller Welt weiterentwickelt, der es KOMPAKT erlaubt Musiker aus allen Bereichen des elektronischen Spektrums einzuladen und zu fördern. Für SPEICHER 81 liefert das Brüdergespann VOIGT & VOIGT zwei bewusstseinsverändernde Dosen psychotropen Technos ab, der seinen größtmöglichen Effekt aus minimalsten Arrangements zieht.

Ein genaueres Studium von Beipackzettel und Nebenwirkungen entlarvt die halluzinogenen Eigenschaften des Voigt'schen Klangs, eine regelrechte Knetmaschine für Körper und Geist der tanzenden Meute. Ziemlich eindeutig auch das ästhetische Ziel – die schön patzige A-Seite SUPERPITCH etwa tut genau das, was sie sagt: den Pitch reiten, und zwar hart. Die unermüdlich morphenden Glocken bringen sämtliche Sinneseindrücke durcheinander und machen den Hörer zur einfachen Beute für die simplen und höchst effektiven Beat- und Bassmuster des Tracks. Der geheime Hit jedoch verbirgt sich auf der Rückseite – das sinnig benannte SUPERTRIP, eine dramatische, streicherlastige Technoreise, die mit einer spartanischen, aber herzhaft reibenden Bassline beginnt und sich schnell zum vollausgestatteten Synthie-Stampfer entwickelt. 5 respective artists from different contexts and styles.
Young and always fresh Sebastian Bouchet is doing the honors opening the record with a proven dance floor hit “Captain Drag”, already a classic on the sets of Pachanga Boys, Barnt and a few other lucky ones who have it.

The journey continues with the indiesque laid back sound of “Leisure” from Yula Kasp, a good friend of The Boys, originally from Poland, based in the suburbs of Paris where she stays creative thanks to the company of her cats, the love from her lover, her beautiful garden and the fine herbs she gets from it.

Next is Antimateria (Speachless extended version*) from Beyou. A slow
dark and introspective trip from Diego, beloved friend from Mexico City.* 

From Monterrey (Mexico) El Güero Fresa Presenta: brings us “Convertible Ride”, a unique track which is almost a guilty pleasure… Enjoy the breeze in your face and try not to smile while listening to it… just not possible.

The trip ends (for some) with Land From Land by Otto, from Germany… a beautiful one take melancholic recording which makes time stop.
