The 29th release on Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital finds the label showcasing its second annual ADE Sampler.  Last year's inaugural edition proved to be one of their most popular offerings as it earned a top 5 position in Beatport's best-selling releases chart.  Featured on the 2014 installment are the talents of Antrim, Dark Soul Project & Hugo Ibarra, Jaap Ligthart, Michael A, and Shimmer. 

One of 2013's top newcomers was the Belarus based producer Michael A.  Support from Hernan Cattaneo brought attention to his pristine sounding productions and thus the electronic music underground soon became fans of his work.  Michael's contribution to the sampler is entitled 'Felonious' and it also marks his debut on the label.  Its shapely grooves and haunting soundscapes are some of the most detailed work of Michael's career.  The ethereal finale takes things one step further with a refined sonic approach that's sure to be a delight on the dancefloor.

The latest release on Deep Blue Eyes finds the Magnetic Brothers showcasing their latest single entitled ‘You Hear Me’.
The Russian duo and Deep Blue Eyes owners have teamed up with vocalist Ange for one of 2015’s most enchanting tracks. There are also a variety of remixes from Magshine, Loquai and Gilbert Ramos which complement the original wonderfully. The Magnetic Brothers have always had a way with crafting strong progressive minded tracks and ‘You Hear Me’ is easily one of their best. It’s a bit of a throwback to the golden tears of progressive which everyone refers to. A bold groove, squelchy stabs and a complement of infectious rhythms makes it ideal for the dance floor and Ange who always sounds great sounds absolutely fabulous here. The breakdown builds emotion nicely before the stripped grooves along with Ange’s breathy vocals take you home. Beautiful work from the Magnetic Brothers and there is also a Dub included if you so desire.

The first interpretation of ‘You Hear Me’ is provided by Magshine who many will know as Anton from Magnetic Brothers. After debuting the new project on Whose Haus in April, 2012 Anton has added releases on Balkan Connection, Particles, Soundteller Records and of course his own Deep Blue Eyes imprint. It’s already been a nice beginning to the year for Anton with an appearance on the Whose Haus Forty-5ive RPM compilation and a single for Intemporal forthcoming. For his ‘You Hear Me’ interpretation Anton has crafted a more tech house inspired version which is quite lovely. It’s percussive framework is loaded with energy and Ange’s vocals get chopped up and processed to perfection. It’s a dubbier approach with lots of gates and snips constantly lighting up your senses. The funkier third act keeps things lively and propels the track to a groovy finish. Awesome remix from Magshine.

The second interpretation of ‘You Hear Me’ is provided by Loquai who is making his fourth appearance on Deep Blue Eyes. The Russian born Germany based producer is fresh off a wicked remix for Springa’s ‘Stay For The Show’ on System Recordings and also just released his ‘Dub Lion’ single on Majestic Family Records. For his ‘You Hear Me’ interpretation Loquai has stayed true to the bold vibes from the original and crafted one of his biggest remixes. Fueled by an electric groove, razor sharp synths and a more subtle take on Ange’s vocals the mix flows with huge energy to the main break. The third act strips things down a touch and it works amazingly well in building anticipation for an even larger conclusion. Excellent work from Loquai and like the main mix there is also a dub for the less vocally inclined.

The third and final interpretation of ‘You Hear Me’ is provided by Gilbert Ramos who is making his first appearance on Deep Blue Eyes. The US producer first appeared on the scene in 2012 with ‘Compatible Dreams’ courtesy of the Funktripes label. 2014 saw Gilbert get signed to Baroque Records and Mistique Music while 2015 has already gotten off to a great start with an appearance on Soundteller Records Vibrant Vibeland Vol. 3 collection. For his ‘You Hear Me’ interpretation Gilbert has gone deeper and more atmospheric with great results. It’s techy framework and dreamy layers close the package out on a strong note and once again there is a dub supplied for those that may prefer it. A huge release from Deep Blue Eyes with the Magnetic Brothers presenting one of their best ever creations. Highly Recommended.

'One' is the debut album of Ben Klock. 

Stylistically, Klock draws on plentiful resources. There's the dirty techno in 'Grip', the sexy intermittent 'Check Your Pulse', alongside ambient like tracks like 'Init One' and 'Init Two', as well as the dubstep inspired 'Goldrush'. And then there are the outstanding cuts 'Goodly Sin' and 'Ok' featuring Elif Biçer's vocals. In comparison to her records with Prosumer & Murat Tepeli, here her voice has been reduced to the bare essentials.

With its rugged bassline and crafty claps 'Ok' is even reminiscent of a contemporary version of Nicolette's early work with Shut Up And Dance, but first and foremost it expands the Berghain sound to include a notion of pop.

'One' displays a depth and maturity of sound rarely found in this compactness. In all its stylistic variety, this album oozes with Klock's traditional understanding of techno. The special sound at Berghain, the low bass, the hiss and the rumble, the economically used melodic fragments and the eerie atmospheres are present at any moment of this recording. The album creates a sealed off space reflecting Berghain as an actual place. Ben Klock defines techno as visonary music knowing about its past, yet appearing completely up to date without ever coming close to Detroit and minimal clichés.

Marco Faraone makes his debut on Josh Wink’s legendary Ovum Recordings with an original 4 track EP. Entitled ‘Raw Jamsessions 001’, the EP is the first of a new concept series intended for vinyl lovers and those who appreciate the analogue sound.

The entire EP was produced live, with Marco connecting his hardware, preparing the patterns and recording live to Tape, unedited. The result is four high quality dance floor tools, with a raw, dusty, old-school analogue edge. Whilst each track is untitled, they each have their own distinct feel; the first is a rolling journey of echoing synths and hefty drums, whilst the second is a long-player featuring a cascade of acid-tinged stabs. On the B-side ‘003’ makes for a laid-back yet gritty 6 minutes, whilst ‘004’ closes off the EP with layers of percussion over a thudding bassline.

The so far elusive Yaleesa Hall is tapped for an offbeat, dub version of Consignia, twisting the track into something altogether darker and stranger. A muddied, dare we say filthy bassline supports a chaotic framework of unpredictable drum patterns and mechanized noise, while still maintaining a hallucinogenic groove as the track’s original elements gasp for air underneath. 

Meanwhile, Truncate steps up to deliver a remix that further encapsulates his precise vision of deep, raw techno. Choosing to boldly strip back the foundations of the original track, his powerful rework performs subtle but precise surgery, creating a tense masterpiece of sustain and release, enveloping the dancefloor in thunderous claps and jittering rave samples.
