Infinite jukebox wc 3 May 2021

March is a month of contrasts, especially on the High plains, and really anywhere in the Midwest and Southern states.  Sometimes after lamb-like weather, a lion of a storm system can form bringing a blizzard to the Front Range from Denver to Cheyenne and tornados to within a few miles of Amarillo.  Pat and I try to put a little of March's moodiness into music first inspired by his mandolin musings that also inspired an earlier track "The Return".

Sometimes the most intense dreams happen during afternoon naps.  I don't take one very often, but had a dream about the Hernandis classical guitar which I hadn't played in a while.  When I awoke I got it out and started playing and this tune was there and waiting.  My good friend and bandmate Pat Howell heard it and said, "Every time I listen, I keep hearing this mandolin part with it".  I love the addition and can be heard here @patrick-howell-786748109. Probably the last part of the series. Impetus or momentum is also an archaic theory that was supposed to address the problem of inertia (and turned out to be wrong). Still, the concept seemed to me to fit perfectly with the idea of "feeding the movement", any force that moves us, keeps us in action. 
The main influence remains Steve Reich and in particular his work on "Electric counterpoint" and "2x5" which I wondered what would happen if they were considered as works of a new kind of rock that would only ask prosper.

Toujours est-il que le concept me semblait coller parfaitement à l’idée « d ‘alimentation du mouvement », toute force qui nous meut, nous garde en action.
