Lise Lotte Ågedal komponerte 19 sanger som hun brukte i arbeid med barn med talevansker. Arbeidet ble gjort i forbindelse med ph.d.-avhandlingen Bedre uttale for barn etter musikkterapi med spesialtilpasset sang (NMH-publikasjoner 2016:6)

Ågedal komponerte 12 sanger hvor hver sang tar utgangspunkt i ett bestemt ord som øver en spesiell talevanskelighet. Hun komponerte i tillegg én sang for å bedre uttalen av mindre lydkombinasjoner (Hermesangen), én sang for å bedre uttalen av bokstavnavn (Det var en gang en B), én sang for å bedre barnas taleprosodi ved å øke barnas ambitus (Sangen om A, E, Y og I) samt en sang for å skape variasjon i musikkterapien og gjennom dette øke barnas motivasjon for vokal deltagelse (Hva sier dyrene?). Musikkterapien startet alltid med en Velkommensang og avsluttet med en Ha-det-sang.

"The piece is in three movements, fast, slow, fast. In the two outer fast movements the marimbas set the harmonic background which remains rather static compared to recent pieces of mine like Double Sextet (2007). The marimbas interlock in canon, also a procedure I have used in many other works. The vibes present the melodic material first solo and then in canon. However, in the central slow movement the texture changes into a thinner more transparent one with very spare use of notes, particularly in the marimbas. I was originally concerned this movement might just be ‘too thin’, but I think it ends up being the most striking, and certainly the least expected, of the piece.
