The air was thick with the fog of the morning and the palpable dread of our soldiers as we began to see the formations of the enemy in the dawn’s early light.  The fog gave way to rain and then it began.  The relentless pounding of the trebuchet crashed into the castle walls with a fiery anger that made physical the hateful bloodlust of the screams of our enemy.  Each wall-shaking explosion was echoed by the thunderous yells of the enemy who would soon descend upon us in a stormy wave of murderous hatred.

Bio
In 2007 at age 63 Montrealer Peter Wheeler bought his first guitar. He then went to amazon.com and purchased a book called “How To Play The Guitar for Dummies”. Since then he hasn’t looked back. 

Sometimes serious - sometimes humorous Wheeler’s music seeks to re-capture the Classic Vibes  from the 70’s & 80’s. To best describe his music imagine Bob Dylan & The Doors meet The Clash & Leonard Cohen at the Hotel California & share a bottle of wine with Tarantino. Peter Wheeler is a poet - focusing all his energies into creating musical canvases to express his personal vision of the world surrounding him. 

For several years Peter was part of the local bar scene in the Greater Montreal area.  He performed as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for The Rock Roulette Band. His experiences giving live performances and continually improving his guitar playing has truly shown that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

In 2020 Peter teamed up with Johnny Vienneau, a multi- talented musician and Producer from Montreal and recorded his first album of cover songs called "Self Portrait".  https://soundcloud.com/peter-wheeler/sets/self-portrait-1

Today Peter continues to pursue his passion for The Arts by doing portraits of friends, family and people he greatly admires. In 2021 he became a re-born again environmentalist and his songwriting is now focused on increasing awareness of the climatic challenge facing the planet.

Currently on a break from SoundCloud due to real life getting in the way.  Should be back in 2025.

My main influences range from Electronic Music (Jarre, Vangelis, and Tangerine Dream) to Rock, Pop, and Orchestral (Classical and Soundtracks), but also include an occasional bit of Hip Hop, EDM and Dubstep.   I have not tried to imitate any of these artists.  I am experimenting in various genres to find what I like most about each one and see what I can learn from them to add to my personal style.   'Slam-Cut' is a film term for quick jump cuts without much set up.  This is analogous to the variety of genres and themes you might encounter here on my SC page.   I hope you enjoy listening.

I have always admired music, of diverse styles. Like most of us, I have tried learning to play a few instruments at a basic level in my teenage. But it is only now, in the 21st century, that modern software allows anyone to fool around being the composer, the designer of a whole composition, simpler or more complex, organising together the parts of the various instruments - and to hear the results of this experimentation or inspiration instantly! That is how I have recently begun enjoying the distraction of attempts at composing during my leisure, discovering an amazing dimension of life, and art, perhaps the most intangible, heightening and hypnotising one, and the closest to the soul... I have been passionately creating music for a considerable amount of time. My vibe is mainly Rap, Rock and Pop. My purpose in writing music goes beyond mere entertainment.
