Meet French native but London based producer Valentin Lafont who has delivered a mood enhancing B-side flip to the latest BONN Dance Ideas EP. ‘Low Tide’ is a gentle and floaty trip to outerspace with delicate keys and calming percussion. Having been around for almost a full calendar year, the sub-label PNP has already made quite the name for itself during the past several months. Managed by producer Fede Lng, this imprint is a spin-off of his already successful parent label Axe On Wax, which is responsible for exposing the world to such artists like Kirk The Flirt, Jesse Bru, Trudge, and Mall Grab.

Although Axe On Wax specializes in a more traditional sense of house music, PNP appears to be all about the disco - a way in which Fede and his friends can release edits of their favorite tunes of old. For DJs looking to spice up their sets with unadulterated funk, look no further than their upcoming record PNP 003, which features songs by Tom Jay, Braga Cicuit, Pacific Bureau, and Fede Lng himself.

The fifth track rounding out the bunch comes from little-known producer Hank Youngman (Hank YM) and is titled Nao Nao. Hailing from Melbourne, Hank seems to have a strong affinity for Marcos Valle's classic Nao Tem Nada Nao. In his edit of the original, Hank simplifies the tune - stripping out many of its lyrics while concentrating on the quintessential Brazilian ad-libs that are present throughout the piece. This manages to give the song a lot of room, allowing Hank to fit in his assortment of looped basslines, guitar riffs, and space-age synths that help transform it into an all-out groove. 

Set to come out sometime this fall, this edit already has us excited to get our hands on a copy of this forthcoming release!

The whole track feels like its got some vintage 70's filter over it, soundtracking an afternoon by the water in Venice, sipping a Campari and watching the beautiful people go by.

Ahead of its forthcoming compilation “House Of Riviera” Mona Musique releases a sampler EP that contains three tracks selected by label manager @NickV , taken from the golden age of Italian House Music, two of which are exclusive to the EP.

Side A is “I Have Got It” by @RickyMontanari and Davide Ruberto under the alias Riviera Traxx, a moniker shared with various other Riviera producers. Released in 1997, this is the only track that is out of the 1991/1993 time scale that the compilation focuses on, standing alone thanks to its tough hypnotic drum beat and diva vocal stabs that are very reminiscent of the Junior Vasquez NY Sound Factory era. This was initially featured on Riviera Traxx 4 in 1997, the fourth and final release of the cult “Riviera Traxx” series on legendary Italian label Irma records.

On the B side are two cuts that are typical of the deep and emotional vibe of classic Riviera House productions of the early 90s. Firstly @Ivan-Iacobucci, Fabrizio Cini and Nicola Dragani deliver “Tribal Love” under the name of Anxious. Initially released in 1992 this was the B side cut of the Saxample EP the first release of Hole records one of the first underground House labels in Italy run by @Ivan-Iacobucci that enjoyed over 30 releases over the 10 following years. Subway Ground Master complete the release with the superb “Queensway” taken from their only ever release in 1992 on Calypso, a sub-label of Irma records.
