Episode 52 and back at the Basso HQ. Chill vibes for your sunday pleasure and solid takeover from Svnset Waves fam! Funny thing, right before our show, Elijah Wood and Zach Cowie aka DJ duo Wooden Wisdom (@wooden-wisdom) took over the Basso studios for a special broadcast. So there were some Hobbi... I mean Hollywood in the studio.

Our show was laid-back and we really enjoyed the takeover from @pazmal, Olli (@totototoro), @svnsetwaves and mvnners (@manners-music). Thanks guys!

For the first time, we missed one show. So it’s been a month. But here we are, back with another episode backed with feel good vibes. Like I say in the show, our tour went well, we had fun in every city we visited and every party we played. Can’t wait to do more shows. 

Ink starts this session with all kind of beat music related stuff. Sammy continues with the same theme. At the end we hear a great uptempo guest mix from LA-NO (@lanoprod), Amsterdam based Dj and producer, who is part of Darker Than Wax roster and also a founder of Pop Ya Collar parties in Amsterdam.

So here’s my tribute to the mighty mighty one, Mr Maurice White, who sadly passed away on February 4 of this year. He left us an incredible treasure trove of music that has shaped the way I live my life!

I avoided the really obvious hits that you can hear everywhere and went for my personal faves, and a solid dose of the music that went on to shape the unique sound of Earth Wind and Fire from his early years working with two great mentors to him, Ramsey Lewis and Charles Stepney.

I got so much pleasure recording this - I hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Soulection boss man Joe Kay visited Finland for the first time to play a gig in Helsinki. Unfortunately we missed the gig, but Ink had a chance to meet Joe the next and chat about music. Here it is. The last Soft Focus Radio show for now.

After five years it feels that we have done a lot. When we first started the show, we didn't have any goals or even plans, but this took us quite far. Because of the show we have landed gigs around the world, which is kind of crazy. 

We like to thank all the artists, labels and collectives we worked with. 
All the artists with guest mixes on the show, all the artists who sent us tracks to play on the show. Big thank you to our listeners, thank you for all the feedback, it was a pleasure to do this for you, for a reason. It’s the end of Soft Focus Radio, but we will keep digging and drop mixes from now on.
