Wait, what? A new Quince? Call the newspapers! It has been YEARS since the Dutch techno producer from Utrecht found the peace of mind to actually release something. In fact, the Anthology of Interest EP on the illustrious NOWHERE series is his first proper record in eight years. His daytime job as a medic kept him rather occupied. You might remember those times when there was a pandemic around?

We missed Quince, even though his sound is rather timeless. Fluid Detroit infused techno with pulsating rhythms, alluring keyboard stabs and sultry basslines, like on Ghost In The Machine and the extremely funky The Butterjunk Effect.

Opening track Meanwhile has that hazy peak time feel you love so much while dancing with your eyes closed. But the winner of this very versatile EP may just be Space Pilot 3000. A futuristic and jumpy electro-track where the worlds of Drexciya and Juan Atkins collide in a blinding orange supernova. Can someone call a doctor!

In the eighties, all the boys and many girls had a crush on Kim Wilde. Cosmic Force was no different. By covering her hitsingle Cambodia, the Dutch producer comes clean of his childhood love. His slinky vocoder version has the same coolness that stuck to miss Wild back then, and we think it fits perfectly in a post disco-set by the likes of Intergalactic Gary, Legowelt or Cosmic Force himself.

Su pasión por la música dance es variada y ecléctica, con un dominio preciso y selectivo de multitud de estilos, desde breaks hasta electro, house, techno o lo que se le ocurra. En sus lances, la sorpresa y la efectividad están aseguradas.

En los platos es una maravilla tanto por su refinada selección como por su técnica y se siente a gusto en la escena "underground". Yngryd se conecta con la pista de baile y lo que crea es algo mágico con el público.

Su radio de acción no se limita a la escena local y ya ha realizado importantes incursiones en clubes míticos como Tresor, Lanna, Cassette o Dantz e importantes festivales como Mugako o Aquasella,

Próximamente, Yngryd lanzará su propio sello musical donde podremos ver su trabajo como productora.

I made this edit of the original show to just focus on the knowledge and history Mad Mike shares. 

Michael Anthony Banks, better known as "Mad" Mike Banks, is an American techno producer. He is the co-founder, along with Jeff Mills, of US record label Underground Resistance and was a key player in the "second generation" of Detroit techno.

Banks lives in Detroit, Michigan and is a former studio musician (bass/guitar), having played with Parliament/Funkadelic among others.[1] He worked in the second half of the 1980s with the collective Members of the House, releasing several 12" singles. Banks and Mills founded the label Underground Resistance in the late 1980s, and the pair, along with Robert Hood, produced most of the label's early releases.[2] After Hood and Mills's departure from Underground Resistance, Banks headed the label himself, releasing material from acts such as Drexciya and Sean Deason in addition to his own productions.[2]

He is also co-founder and co-owner with Christa Robinson of Submerge Distribution since 1992. Submerge, along with Underground Resistance, is an independent record label which distributes Detroit-based techno worldwide.[3]

Among Banks's early influences are Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Marshall Jefferson; his later work shows his increasing interest in acid house and industrial.[2] Banks has hewn strictly to an ethic of the underground and refuses to be photographed in public as part of this ethic.[3] His releases often deal with elements of political and social commentary, which have made him a controversial figure from within the Detroit electronic music scene.[1] Banks quit playing live shows in the late 1990s due to continuing problems with customs agencies, but began doing live shows again in the mid-2000s.[4]

With previous releases on respected labels such as Kodai, Mango Alley, Movement, Droid9, Kitchen Recordings, One Of A Kind, and RYNTH, Notamous continues to build a catalogue that balances depth and variety.
