I created this set for an event in 2014, but due to technical issues I wasn't able to play it out. Fast forward to Fall 2015 - a dear friend's 40th birthday cocktail party became the perfect place to test it out. It was debuted on the BoxFrequency.fm radio show "Sun is Shining Dub & Chill" in late December 2015. Elements of trip hop, jazzy beats, and other rhythms.

Ahh the live set, the great test of vulnerability, surrender and ego. After DJing for so many years committing to performing only my own compositions on the fly all summer has brought a whole new level of love and appreciation for my art and performance, I could write paragraphs on it but will leave you with this recording. Thanks to everyone who danced at the shows and stuck around for the weird interludes and abstract openings 😉 ! This was my favourite recording from the summer, at Strawberry Fields Festival, In my eyes the perfect setting for my music.

Music, music, music, woodworking, music. 

Starting as a self taught bassist and later graduating from Berklee College of Music with a focus in music synthesis and production, Aric Sebastian (Solstice) pulls from his long and diverse career as a musician in all of his work. With early roots in soul, funk and disco, getting the audience to dance has always been priority number one. These days, Solstice is exploring the next logical step in the musical journey, the realm of DJing. Though you'll mostly find music based around techno and house and all of its cousins, you'll also find a little nu disco, electro swing and even trip hop sprinkled here and there as well.
