Monoloc returns to Soma in the form of a special remix package that sees 2015’s ‘Gipson Ep’ reworked by Slam, Lucy and SHDW & Obscure Shape. Monoloc carefully selected his remixers to breath new life in to his fantastic debut release on Soma with superb results.

Soma label heads Slam turn in a brooding, menacing version of title track Gipson. Staying true to the original’s heavy and atmospheric vibe, the Glaswegian duo keep it stripped back and pounding. Stroboscopic Artefacts boss, Lucy steps up with his more experimental take on Cupel. The dubbed out atmospheres of the original take on a new life and Lucy leans hard on the electronics and delivers a broken beat, tweeked out trip. Relative newcomers SHDW & Obscure Shape round off the EP with a big, bold reinterpretation of Gipson. Thundering bass drums, hypnotic synths hooks and and an epic use of the original’s pad create a fairly ferocious end to the EP.

Luigi Tozzi is a young Roman artist just twenty-three years old but with a profound musical knowledge. His productions reflect the distinct musical style coming from the Italian capital, a style purveyed by artists now considered icons within the international techno scene. It’s the direct link to this sound that aligns Luigi’s music perfectly with the musical realm of Outis Music. The EP’s opening and title track “Calipso” is dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea “Calypso”, elegantly adding subtly trance-like traits to a classic 4/4 beat. Next piece “Ambrosia” finishes the first side with a deep, sophisticated and refined device dedicated to the Ocean God. Devotion to the return to home is the theme of the following cut “Nostos”, a substantial tool that’s hypnotic and encapsulating. On the EP’s final piece “Nostos (Dino Sabatini Version)”, label founder Dino Sabatini provides a different point of view on Luigi’s original in his own classic and unmistakable style.

Back at our mammoth Stay True Scotland broadcast earlier this month, one track came real close to bringing The Caves' roof down during Nina Kraviz's powerhouse headline set. "I Wanna Go Bang" very nearly executed its titular statement – well, if the song was more about wrecking balls and less about...oh, never mind.

The vocals that stalk the track, so wholly devoid of humanity, rub up against razor-sharp claps and serious bounce in the subs. It's weighty warehouse techno of the highest order, set to devastate dark basements and big tents alike throughout the year. Simply put: Icelandic producer Bjarki has delivered a bomb.

'Insurrection' represents everything that https://soundcloud.com/official-rezz is about. The three tracks on the EP showcase her propensity for dark, eerie atmospherics that pack a serious punch, blending elements of heavy techno with crunchy electro synth lines that immediately evoke parallels with Parisian innovator, Gesaffelstein. Inspired by “sketchy vibes” and “downtown alleyways,” all three of REZZ’s productions on 'Insurrection' are fully dancefloor-ready while imposing a unique entrancement on their listeners.

Rekids welcomes Madrid-based producer Regal to the label for the first time, with the long-awaited release of the Figure/Enemy Records affiliate’s interpretations of Ghetto Kraviz. 

With the original named by FACT Magazine as one of the top 100 tracks of the decade so far, Regal’s 303 and Dub remixes have meanwhile been a recurring feature in Radio Slave's sets since last year, leading to their eventual release on his recently relaunched imprint. The A-side sees the Involve Records boss turn in an jacking, acidic take, while on the flip, the Dub version heads in a more classic techno direction, replete with pounding kicks and cathedral-filling reverb.

Biography 
Anyone who approaches Techno music with intelligence and finesse is exactly in the right place with C.7even, because the young Frankfurt-native has her craft down to a tee. She found her way intoelectronic music back in 2009, shaped by many musical genres. Contrary to many others, her style is constantly evolving and driven by the passion to constantly reinvent herself.Groovy-melodic, mystic- hypnotic, straightforward-uncompromising- this is what she embodies, but she still has always a clear vision    her mind of the story that she wants to tell through the medium of electronic sounds. “A DJ set has to make sense to me, Im no fan of the approach to just step behind the decks and blindly improvise my way through my playtime- Im always aware of what it is that I want to convey to my audience. That moment, when you ignite that spark in your audience- when the dancefloor really lets loose and people follow your leadership- that feeling just cannot be bought, that’s why I personally prefer longer sets (4-5 hours or more) over short and compressed playtimes. You can unfold and spread your wings so much more, and the connection between you and your audience gets so much deeper and more intense. In terms of own productions, C.7even doesn’t have anything official under her belt yet- but she doesn’t have to, because good stuff takes his time and her sets more than speak for themselves.“im really not a patient person, that’s why I might need more time than others to complete projects. DRONE Podcast 040 - C.7even

NoExcuse Music label returns with a storming EP from hot Puerto Rican talent Caleb Calloway: a fast-rising producer who has received huge support from Loco Dice. Playing alongside the Desolat boss and co at Hyte and creating guest mixes for THUMP and Fabric, he is on his way to becoming a huge star.

Calloway presents two slick, crisply produced originals: the low-slung warped house groove of 'Makin' It' and the bubbling stripped-back tech of 'Da Side'. Label boss Emery Warman takes the former into techier territory, while Kreature & Rudosa pump up the latter on the trippy peak-time version.

Emery and his label are making a big mark on the tech house scene, with support from Marco Carola and his Music On roster amongst others.

Next up on the gold standard tech house imprint that is Roush, comes label boss himself, Hector Couto. On the Parental Advisory EP, the influential Spaniard has readied four cuts of to-the-point club music that cannot fail to make its mark.
Hector is one of the most respected artists around with a truly global allure for his brand of house music. He has released on labels such as Defected, Moon Harbour, Hot Creations and Get Physical and is no stranger to the finest DJ booths in the world, from Ministry of Sound to Amnesia Ibiza. As such any new music from him warrants deserved excitement.
Proving that once more is excellent opener ‘Like This,’ a wobbly tech house tune that is full of electronic funk. It has great vocals, swollen bass and siren like synths that really get under your skin and demand you dance. Title track ‘Parental Advisory’ is a real party starter with wild vocals and jittery drums. Off kilter synth stabs and fat bass all make it a hugely fun and characterful tune that is sure to stand out in any set.
Moving on to the essential ‘Old Roots’, this one comes laden with retro breakbeats and a dusty sense of groove. Air horns and crisp hi hats all get stitched into the loopy groove and pull you deeper and deeper in with each rotation. Lastly, ‘Bubble Gum’ comes with a snaking bassline that is tough and rugged. Classic 909 pops and clicks pepper the groove, as do plenty of sweet vocal samples and the result is one hell of a tech tune that sounds like little else.
This is another masterclass in effective, emotive dance music and it marks another fine release for both label and artist.

Hector Couto - Old Roots [Advance]

Infuse drop their first 12" of 2016 which sees Howl Ensemble take the reigns for a fine 3 tracker. Nexus is a bottom heavy warehouse groove with Plexus providing able support with its deeper aquatic style whilst Sexus rounds things off with an altogether trippier experience.

Soma present a exclusive set of remixes taken from the debut album of the still unknown duo, Gemini Voice Archive. The pair have had an incredible journey so far on Soma with huge support across the techno world, made up of DJs & fans alike. The remix EP sees Slam, Inigo Kennedy & Matrixxman select their favourites from the album and give them their own interpretation.

Slam are up first with the space age Framauro’s Plains. The Soma label heads quickly and expertly delve head first with a fairly intense remix utilising the original’s hook but with more aggression. The maestro, Inigo Kennedy serves up a unique and almost Orchestral version of Singularity. He carves up the original beautifully adding finely tuned soundscapes. Closing out the EP is a more downbeat and dubbed out remix from Matrixxmann. His version of Significant Proportion of The Speed Of Light is a more subtle & atmospheric affair - typical of his style. 

There’s plenty more to come from the GVA boys with 2 more singles slated for 2018. Watch this space.
