Last month on the 13th of October, we invited house music hero & all round good guy Derrick Carter to bring his 'Derrick Does Disco' party to the Sub Club helping to celebrate GLASGAY! 20th Anniversary.

The source of many a man-crush (particularly from our local DJ geeks and record freaks) our sexy affair with Derrick has spanned a good couple of decades. Perhaps it’s his desirable physique, that intense beaded brow around 2am or his disarmingly charming manliness from the moment we met him off the plane.

Either way we’re always hot for him and so was everyone in the crowd who joined us as we got down and dirty in a darkened room and showed each other some serious loving, with no strings attached till 3am.

With Derrick in control for the full four hours we had to get the roadblocks out. Here is an hour of this amazing set specially picked out by the one man block party himself.

Sonny Sun is a techno DJ and promoter, originally from China and currently based in Tokyo, Japan. With a style deeply rooted in techno, his sound explores the edges of hypnotic, psychedelic, deep, and experimental realms.

He is also the head of the electronic music label "Onsen Club." Based in both China and Japan, Onsen Club is a techno party organization and community. The name, inspired by the surging water and rising steam of hot springs, represents their attitude towards electro and techno music and their vision for an ideal environment: a shared space where people can listen intently, dance alone or together, with sweat falling like rain. They believe this "hard rain" will eventually transform into a hot spring.

Drawing from diverse cultural influences and his unique journey, Sonny is skilled in detailed sound design, using high-frequency molecules and natural elements. His sets sometimes create connections with people and other times provide an escape from reality, captivating their senses and strive to accurately lifting the dancefloor to a higher state.He believes that good music makes people want to keep dancing, losing track of time and the surrounding environment.

Through these diverse activities, Sonny Sun continues to make significant contributions to the electronic music scene.
