Dear friends. A nasty war is going on right now. This song is a prayer to the Warlord to stop the fight and withdraw his forces.
I do not dare to mention the name of this Warlord since he has a reputation to send out agents for murdering of inconvinient people all over the world. We have several Warlords in the world, and you must choose by Yourself.

Dirty Work W/ Docvet

My friend Gavan had been posting some poems on FB and so I asked him if he'd like me to have a go at making one into a song. Here's the result. A little tweaking to get the words to flow within a song a song structure only.. These are Gavan's words.

Gavan and I met when we were about 12 years old and almost entered a music competition together, Gavan on tin whistle, me on guitar..... ah youth...

I like the journey this poem took me on. From a uncertain start through a manifesto for the the dreamer to a joyous who cares at the end.

I hope you all like this too....

Get well soon Gavan (he just feel down the stairs).

Attraction, Initial satisfaction.

My first track of the year in 2020; I had no idea how prophetic it would be.  We all lost loved ones or know someone whose loved ones perished in the pandemic (still ongoing) and the heart's cry was to have "one more day" to say what needed to be said, to give them a hug or a kiss, share a laugh or a tear; to give them a fond and fitting farewell.  Annie @annie-smart-1 added a lovely vocal and piano part to this song that lifts it to another level.

I've been on Soundcloud since Dec 2011 and it still amazes me how this community has helped me to improve my music and continue to write and play. It's the balance between the making music and the listening to the inspiration that the rest of you create, that makes it work. Thank you for sharing and thank you for listening.

I'm song writer and singer, continuing to learn and play, create and expand my capabilities. I'm very happy to write and record with others here on Soundcloud, I've enjoyed the collaborations that I've been involved with and they are where I learn the most. So, if you want a lyric or a vocal or fancy trying to collaborate on a complete track please let me know. 

My songs tend to be lyrics driven and my lyrics tend to come from ideas hinted at by words or phrases I hear or read. Once I'm writing I tend to start off in one direction and soon find the lyrics choosing their own. No matter how hard I push towards that pop, chirpy track.... I tend to come back something a little slower. Through I've been experimenting more lately. 

I truly believe everyone can write and should give it a go and so I'm happy to work with anyone.

I'm currently recording a combination of N2 pencil mics for acoustic guitar and a Aston Original mike for vocal. I have an M-Audio interface to my Mac and Logic X.
