Greek Disco God Dim Zach is a rare occurence: a charismatic, talented DJ turned prolific producer and songwriter who, having imposed himself through sheer talent and hard work, has become ubiquitous in his country, Greece. A shift many dream of, although few achieve as successfully. And for good reason, blessed with a mission (real name) Dimosthenis Zachariadis rarely fails to generate feelgood emotions, beaming up listeners to the dancefloor of an imaginary Mediterranean nightclub of his own hedonist creation.

A self-confessed work-alcoholic with a relentless output, this multitasker juggles as many projects as he can lay his hands on: remixing new artists as well as old hits, releasing on plethora of major and independent labels, having in time proved himself as seasoned songwriter and live artist in his own right - he's behind electro pop band Liebe with vocalist/guitarist George (three albums to date including, the last, 'Revolution of Love' on Emerald & Doreen). Notwithstanding this punitive studio schedule still allows him to deejay in clubs and host a couple of weekly radio shows on popular stations (his sound does wonders on the airwaves).

The original is great, but a bit hard to dance to, so we rearranged some elements cause we thought some people might be interested in a more clubby version. It is tenderly made with the greatest respect for the original and we hope you will like it as much as we do. A great tune for fans of John Talabot and The XX ;). Double Down on the Disco Doubles with our Double Deluxe Remix Package Part II

Disco Doubles is the brainchild of Gilberto Caleffi and Erio Simonini. 

After releases on Permanent Vacation and Nang Records, they released their fantastic first album on Emerald & Doreen Records, the futuristic German boutique label
among whose biggest fans is Jerry Bouthier, the world famous Kitsuné DJ and catwalk sound designer of Vivianne Westwood. And they present only killers, no fillers ;). A supernova of a release.

G.RIZO“, the opener of the album, will not only please many dancefloors and catwalks, but also every music lover, especially those who are into 80s italo and Felix da Housecat disco-tech. It is the kind of smash hit that can make it into every top 100 chart and even be played on the coolest radio stations on Earth. People will immediately ask themselves, “who sings that?”.  A great underground hit, definitely. And a hit like this needs to be celebrated! Hence we are releasing two equally awesome remix packages of the track. Disco Doubles - Breaktrough (The Robot Scientists remix) clip

The first track we ever produced, a minimalistic bassed out space ride with funky guitars to our neighbor planet Mars. It was part of the cute and freely available "Memories of the Future" compilation from Select Start Records / Ann Arbor, released in April 2010. <a href="http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=2254180" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=2254180</a>.
This version here also contains a synth layer from Greg Punkov's "Tzaka Tzaka Celophane" because "Landing on Mars" was the basis for a remix we did of it (download here <a href="http://discodust.blogspot.com/2008/04/greg-punkov.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://discodust.blogspot.com/2008/04/greg-punkov.html</a>). The Robot Scientists - Landing On Mars

As if ‘Black Hole’ was some kind of dark space movie from the past –  Kid Machine’s Retro-Italo-Electro style delivers a film score-esque remix. ‘The Robot Scientists’ enter the Black hole only to find a near deserted, lonely secret world. Kid Machine used the melodies from the vocal chorus and replaced some parts with eerie, robotic vocoders to deliver a sense of ‘no escape’ and ‘no return’.

‘Black Hole’ is an epic song exclusively penned for the most adorable Lisa, who started as Teenage-leadsinger of the jazzy Trip Hop/Drum’n’Bass Band Koi. The Robot Scientists build the arrangement around a childlike innocence, supported by Lisa's quality contribution. In contrast to the light and airy feel of the tune, there are dark elements that represent the force of being swallowed by a black hole. Because of its songlike quality, "Black Hole" will stand the test of time with a blend of electronic Disco- and classic New Wave-elements.

Gregorio Assandri (Cloned In Vatican) & Andrea Frittella (Dj Andryu), well known as the Italian duo Irregular Disco Workers, reworked ‘Black Hole’ with their contemporary Italo Disco Touch, adding a massive instant Juno Melody, Moroder-styled Bass, and Balearic influences that brings a late 80′s Burning Dancefloor-feel:

Mr Robotnik puts the funk back into place. Driven by a Wha-wha-esque scratch this percussive persuader swings like a mother. The lighter shade of ‘Black Hole’ is a teaser for the hip-shaking crowd out there. The cosmic tribe bongos its way back down to earth straight to the floor:

Space invader Nicholars Chenard gives only broken information about Lisa being sucked into the ‘Black Hole’ and takes the original parts apart like no other. The buzzing rendition is infectious like a virus on your hard-drive. It does not harm your system, but turns your hi-fi into sci-fi…minimal-funk-esque:

The Robot Scientists feat. Lisa - Black Hole (Irregular Disco Workers Italo Remix)

5th episode of Robotnick's Archives' series.
"Funky Skunky" is a track originally composed in 1996
but completely re-made a few monthes ago. . The original track, made
with MIDI system and virtual synths, was based on a vocal sample taken
from one of the first vynil collections of acappella voices but it sounded
weak and not convincing enough. Therefore it was abandoned and slept
on a forgotten CD-Rom for about 16 years. Robotnick, using analog
synths and triggers, brings it back to life with the energy it deserves. 122 bpm
"Infinite Solitude" is a track that was originally composed
in 2001 for "Oh no ..Robotnick" but then discarded because deemed
to sound too melancholic. In this case too, the recent analog re-writing
gives the track a vintage flavour and rightly puts it back into the
authour's original music process. 128 bpm
"It was like a dream" is more recent, dating back to 2008
but it sounds as if it came out of one of Robotnick's early 80s tapes,
when the author insisted in working out sounds and atmospheres
that would distinguish his style from the music produced in those
days. 124 bpm Finally there are 2 remixes of "Can you hear me?" , a
track released in Archives 2 , signed by young producers from the
"New Disco" scene : "Things happen" and "The Robot Scientists"
present the continuity of a sound that comes from far away but is still
capable of attracting and involving the new generations.
