Bern-E’s remix of  ‘Firefly’  puts a cool, Balearic four to the floor twist on the Sonarpilot original. 
 
A resident of the white island, Bern-E’s burgeoning sound touches on a kaleidoscope of influences, from the dance music scene around him day to day on Ibiza the folk spirit of the Balearics and the music he’s listened to all his life. His productions have that natural homely feel and in a world of house music by numbers, its fresh and honest. His choice of sounds and textures wide-ranging, often unorthodox, each of his productions has a different story to tell.

PREMIERE: Sonarpilot — Moth (Kirk Degiorgio Remix) [Sonarpilot Audio]

After a quiet two years, Michael Moppert aka Sonarpilot returns to the studio and delivers a full album's worth of new material for 2018 on his Sonarpilot Audio label. 

A key concept for the label since its inception in 2008 has been collaboration, with original versions of each track mirrored with a remix production from a key name from the world of underground electronica.

With releases roughly every month throughout the year, today Hype Filter today brings you a summer 4-track sampler including two of the most respected names in Techno, UK Techno pioneer Kirk Degiorgio (Machine/ ART) and New York City’s Dub Techno king, Brendon Moeller (Beat Pharmacy).

This DJ only 4 track EP features two tracks from the batch of recent releases (just in case you've missed them) and two brand new titles lined up for release the tail end of the summer - All mastered and polished by another legend of the techno world, Robert Babicz.

Having remixed for the label in the past, Kirk Degiorgio once again provides a classic, tough dance-floor techno sound on 'Moth' - with the addition of a fresh vocal line -Yes, that’s Kirk himself in the vocal booth delivering the hooks!

Brendon Moeller (Beat Pharmacy) has a huge underground following around the world, the dub techno king's 'live-take' studio mixing desk dub sessions are legendary and in a world of tightly arranged, rigid tracks that follow the tried and tested formula, his rework of 'Listen Dub' has a refreshing freedom and groove that will no doubt shake the walls in dark rooms worldwide.

Backing up the two remixes on the sampler, we see two Sonarpilot originals, the industrial weight and raw acid feel of 'Firefly' from the recent catalog of releases and the uplifting and epic 'Sing To Me' – set for single release in September.

Welcome to the seventh EP in the Sonarpilot Remixed series, where carefully chosen, forward thinking electronic music producers showcase their skills and rework original music by Michael ‘Sonarpilot’ Moppert. This EP sees one of house music’s finest sons take on the aptly named ‘Open House’ a brand new Sonarpilot track. The original mix headlines the EP, Moppert setting his sights on a tougher, Chicago sound delivering a simplistic, catchy bass groove, snappy vocal hits and shimmering pad textures along the way.

Following up on the original, we are proud to bring you three stunning remixes from London based house music producer Danny J Lewis. Known to many as Enzyme Black and more recently, as Tate Modern.

Danny is one of the UKs brightest lights within the global house music scene with tracks like ‘Say Goodbye’ and ‘Bump Tha Bounce’ setting the bar high in terms of production quality and ideas. On his main remix of Open House, he brings an uplifting and constantly morphing lead line that weaves its way through the track, the classic bass organ providing the DJL trademark 90s touch.

The accompanying dub mix jacks a little harder and focuses on the bass groove while the stripped down, keyapella mix will keep the more adventurous DJs out there happy. These extra mixes allow Danny’s take of Open House to be blended together and extended, live in the mix.

Sonarpilot - The Last Machine [Sonarpilot Audio] [MI4L.com]

Michael Mopprt is an electronic musician and producer who lives and works in Switzerland and France. He is the main creative head behind Sonarpilot.

Growing up musically in the 1970s, Michael opened a recording studio in the 1980s. At night, when the studio was not booked, Michael worked on his own material, using extensively digital technology, samplers and synthesizers. Towards the end of the 1980’s his sound was losing the typical song-structure, tracks became longer, increasingly technoid, ambient and experimental.

​In the early 90’s Michael founded a successful software company that kept him busy for almost 20 years.
 
After leaving the software industry, Michael returned to music-making at the tail end of the 00s. He created Sonarpilot, his musical alter ego and since then has been releasing a steady stream of critically acclaimed electronic music. 
 
In the last ten years, Michael has worked closely with London based producer and DJ veteran Jonny Miller. Together the team initiated the label Sonarpilot Audio to publish Michael's work as well as a range of highly recognised music by electronic music artists from around the world.
