Welcome to the seventh EP in the Sonarpilot Remixed series, where carefully chosen, forward thinking electronic music producers showcase their skills and rework original music by Michael ‘Sonarpilot’ Moppert. This EP sees one of house music’s finest sons take on the aptly named ‘Open House’ a brand new Sonarpilot track. The original mix headlines the EP, Moppert setting his sights on a tougher, Chicago sound delivering a simplistic, catchy bass groove, snappy vocal hits and shimmering pad textures along the way.

Following up on the original, we are proud to bring you three stunning remixes from London based house music producer Danny J Lewis. Known to many as Enzyme Black and more recently, as Tate Modern.

Danny is one of the UKs brightest lights within the global house music scene with tracks like ‘Say Goodbye’ and ‘Bump Tha Bounce’ setting the bar high in terms of production quality and ideas. On his main remix of Open House, he brings an uplifting and constantly morphing lead line that weaves its way through the track, the classic bass organ providing the DJL trademark 90s touch.

The accompanying dub mix jacks a little harder and focuses on the bass groove while the stripped down, keyapella mix will keep the more adventurous DJs out there happy. These extra mixes allow Danny’s take of Open House to be blended together and extended, live in the mix.

Sonarpilot - Open House (Danny J Lewis Dub)

I work as a janitor at a college, up state, I see an equation on a black board, I basically just figure it out

Michael Mopprt is an electronic musician and producer who lives and works in Switzerland and France. He is the main creative head behind Sonarpilot.

Growing up musically in the 1970s, Michael opened a recording studio in the 1980s. At night, when the studio was not booked, Michael worked on his own material, using extensively digital technology, samplers and synthesizers. Towards the end of the 1980’s his sound was losing the typical song-structure, tracks became longer, increasingly technoid, ambient and experimental.

​In the early 90’s Michael founded a successful software company that kept him busy for almost 20 years.
 
After leaving the software industry, Michael returned to music-making at the tail end of the 00s. He created Sonarpilot, his musical alter ego and since then has been releasing a steady stream of critically acclaimed electronic music. 
 
In the last ten years, Michael has worked closely with London based producer and DJ veteran Jonny Miller. Together the team initiated the label Sonarpilot Audio to publish Michael's work as well as a range of highly recognised music by electronic music artists from around the world.
