Every Step Of The Way

This is my Covid Project.
Up until recently I reckon I was the only person on the planet not to have experienced the dreaded virus!
Anyway, I finally caught it while trying to record this song. All fairly mild but it lingered a while, and affected my voice a bit. 
This song has been knocking around for so long now I haven't the heart to do any more re-recording :) So ........ up it goes.
PS all better now ....... eventually!

One Face in a Million

It's been a while since I've written/ recorded anything in an acoustic latin style (I've been obsessed with bossa nova for years)- so here goes ............ it may be a little more Ilfracombe than Ipanema, but hope you enjoy :)

This is the last in the Cloudlines series (Just realised I've been putting this collection together for more than 6 years!) 
A dreamlike series of ambient instrumentals featuring warm melodies, acoustic guitars (both nylon and steel strung), heavily processed electric guitars and a shimmering wash of synths.
A mix of the familiar, the nostalgic and the experimental.

Cloudlines No'12 (The Last)

Ages ago, while trawling Spotify, I stumbled on this song by Luke Doucet, a Canadian singer - songwriter(and great guitarist!). 
I immediately loved the guitar part and the lyrics.
It seemed like it would be fun (and a challenge) to learn the song - just guitar and voice, and upload it between bigger projects. Hoping I've done it justice :)

What do you get when you combine 80s synthesizers, lounge and the music from the background of the television guide? You get Smooth Plan, the first single from the in-progress EP "Ideas and Innovations", a throwback inspired by the chilled out sounds of Library Music circa 1988 to 1992.

Just a simple Poly Patch on the Behringer UB-XA.  Dry at first, then with Blue Cat Cat Cat Chorus and Valhalla Supermassive, both Free Plug Ins

Another hand played synth/guitar/bass instrumental improvisation - no MIDI clock synching or sequencing here, so its loose and raw with a live improv feel...

This started out as a track in a similar vein to early Giorgio Moroder stuff from the mid 70s, then as I went along, it became more like a homage to Gary Numan style tracks from the late 70s, but with added slap bass and lead guitar -  This gives rise to the title & concept, which is JG Ballard/PK dick inspired I.E: That of an android escort as per "Are friends electric" or "Pris" from "Blade Runner".
The Streichfett is sounding quite similar to the Vox Numana patch of the Polymoog here (to my ears).

Synthbass: K-2 and Model D synths thru Laney Ironheart valve pre-amp and VP-1 Vintage Phaser pedal  played with Keystep.
String synth: Waldorf Streichfett thru Zoom MS70CDR effects played with Keystep.
Arp, Intro and Outro: Sequential Prophet REV-2
Hacking Strings Outro and Choir: Roland D-05  played with Keystep.
Bass Guitar: Marcus Miller Jazz bass thru BOSS GT01B
Lead Guitar: Les Paul style guitar with P90 Alnico pickups thru BOSS GT001.

More than Human

South West UK based, amateur, solo-artist, creating tracks with (mostly) analog synthesizers, analog drum machines, electric bass and guitars.
The tracks are instrumental music pieces and "jams" in a variety of styles, from pop to rock, 80s, electronica, funk/jazz funk, fusion and prog - often heavily stylized and influenced by artists from the 70s and 80s.
