Nice driving feel to this. Love the melodica and the raw harmonica. I love the bombast of this, and although I'd take the bass down a touch to let the other instruments breathe, that's just an opinion, not a criticism..

its cool how the timbre of the instruments whilst rather upbeat/hopeful are used to convey a more dystopian mood without resorting to normal musical cliches associated with dystopia etc like descending bass and sudden atonal stabs... very nice work

this is a really cool spin. I dig that percussion. there are some melodic "viking" bands that sound similar to this to answer your question. I'd add a link but I'd get hit for spam lol also. that electric harmonica is a nice touch 👌

Full track n°10 from the Scots Wha Hae album (2022), The Lord (You Gotta Move) is kind of a cover of the blues song from Mississippi Fred McDowell’s repertoire, particularly highlighted on the Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers album; I've adapted and arranged this mystical tune with a special bagpipe using a B flat chanter.
Last track of my Scottish traditional album, it’s kind of a bonus track, like an opening to my other sources of inspiration : traditional bagpipe and traditional blues go well together!

How Weathered Are You

The Fall of Saigon asked to add a vocal to our tune and we welcomed him to do so. The original wasn’t written with vocals in mind so we figured it was going to be a tricky thing to do. The Fall of Saigon worked his descriptive lyrics in very well, capturing the spirit of being calm and optimistic in a hurricane.
