Emerging from a thick spiralling haze, is the debut album from Mystic AM - a new project from Rod Modell and label founder Ario Farahani. Conceived as an immersive fictional soundtrack piece, the release tells the story of a traveller, some centuries ago, and the rather intense metaphysical experience he unexpectedly stumbles into whilst taking shelter on a hot desert night at Zein-o-Din Caravanserai, near Yazd in Persia. Dusk envelopes the vast barren landscape as the protagonist enters the ribat, treasures of woven silks, ornaments and exotic spices glint under the flickering oil lamps, swirls of perfumed vapour dance mesmerisingly in the darkness. As the music unfolds the events of the passing day quickly melt away, and the unsuspecting traveller is plunged into an otherworldly dimension. 

Utilising an extensive collection of old Iranian records as source material, the album is an intoxicating mise-en-scéne of whispering melodies, undulating rhythms, and atmospheric sound details. An active buyer of old Iranian music, Ario began extracting and editing samples from the records acquired during frequent trips to Iran over recent years - during which the mood and flavour of the project began to crystallise. Once handed over to Rod for further processing and arrangement, the album took its final shape - an endless tapestry of sights, sounds, and memories that fade mysteriously into the night’s reverie. Textures seep into one another in washes of colour, and hallmarks of classical Persian sounds filter through - the slow stroll of the daf, scintillating runs of santoor, and solitary lines drifting out of the kamancheh. Bridging the realms of the real and the imaginary, the collaboration signals the first contribution to Mystic AM’s enigmatic concept.

The inaugural psychedelic ambient event, Resonance is an exploration of the harmonic relationship between light, sound, and settings in some of the Calderdale (West Yorkshire) most ethereal and intriguing spaces.

Taking place at 9A Projects featuring John Haycock (Kora, woodwind + electronics) on January 27th, with accompanying visuals by Jamie House (crystal motion projector and refractor).

These events will highlight the natural reverberation of the spaces themselves as musical instruments and explore how their acoustic architecture interplays with the space and visuals.

Resonance DJs continue the ambient flow into the evening and we are really happy that NTS host AHRKH (of the Golden Ratio Frequencies show) will close after John with his selection of mind-expanding, transcendental deep vibrations.

The Resonance theme will continue with further events held in different locations throughout Calderdale, West Yorkshire and we are excited about hosting the first of these experiences at 9A Projects, Todmorden within the historic walls of Robinwood Mill.

A free event although donations are very welcome to help continue the series.

For AI-38 Italian duo LF58 (Giuseppe Tillieci and Filippo Scorcucchi) present ‘Radials’. A site-specific concept piece that was recorded live on location in Venice, Radials showcases the powerful and transportive sound world which LF58 have become known for. 

Radials takes its name from the homonymous exhibition created by the Roman artist group Sbagliato, for the 2023 Biennale Architettura of Venice. 

Following a landmark renovation of the Fondacoo dei Tedeschi by renowned Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, Sbagliato proposed the spatial transformation of the historic sixteenth-century building that would blur the lines between fiction and the real. 

The concept, to create unexpected “voids” within the fixed order of architecture, prompts the observer to question the fleeting and subjective nature of the reality that surrounds us. The building’s main loggia - a series of five archways exposed to the Canal Grande - take on a theme of reproduction and multiplication, giving rise to infinite perspectives in a dizzying mise en abyme. Through the portal-like potentialities of the loggia, the visitor enters the gateway to a fluid realm of distorted time and space. 

LF58 arose to translate the visual concept of Radials into sound, delivered through a special quadraphonic concert performed at the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in October 2023. Quadraphonics, with its four distinct audio channels, were used in direct correlation with the visual elements of the installation to immerse the audience in a dreamlike, multisensory experience. 

The opening scene of running waters and the cacophony of the bustling city streets quickly dissolves under the chiming of nearby bells, as hidden liminal spaces become revealed. It’s not long before all remnants of the ordinary are left behind, as the listener is submerged into the shimmering frequencies of parallel dimensions. 

A spatial soundscape of ever-moving forms and colours, Radials descends into ever-deeper waters. As the facade of what was once known falls away, a transportive journey of mind-body alterations begins.

The Resonant Infinite Monkeys are always, foraging for resonance, collecting edible sounds, small acoustic fruits, loud nuts, decaying seeds, sustained berries and oscillating fungi. They often strike themselves on wine glasses to cause them ring to a particular pitch; blow over the top of tubes or bottles to cause them resonate; and push themselves on playground swings in time with their natural intervals to make the swings go higher and higher.



The Resonant Infinite Monkeys have been resonating the first Friday of every month at Netil Radio from 9 PM to 11 PM for the last 32 months. Please don’t expect any art or great performance at Netil Radio. The Monkeys are not musicians; the Monkeys are not artistic agents; the Monkeys are just Monkeys.

A celebration of the most vibrant spring in recent memory. 

A lucid dream-like journey, recorded beside a stream in the beauty of the Calder Valley. Resident of ambient leaning artistic collective 'resonance', adam presents a glimpse of resonance in West Yorkshire for our springtime Bloom Loops sonic journey. 

Beside a quiet and peaceful spring between Todmorden and Hebden Bridge, adam has incorporated field recordings of 'the pond', blending these with a selection of deep listening ambient tracks, and otherworldly field recordings of springtime. The running waters of the valley, the birds, bees, and a bunch of friends.

adam is a key member of the resonance crew - a network of gifted souls who produce journeys between light, sound, and setting with their local community as well as showcasing the gifted artisans and the magic of the valley to events further afield, most recently in London and Manchester.
