Alex Bessofen - Crescendo (Kamilo Sanclemente Remix)

Yudi Watanabe, Andre Moret and L Georges come together for their first ever collaborations via Deersky’s Soundteller Records. Yudi and Andre are no stranger to the Polish imprint having delivered their co-produced ‘Frames’ EP in November of last year. Meanwhile fellow Brazilian L Georges just celebrated his first release, a remix in conjunction with Yudi for Massive Harmony Records which hit the shops in April. Now delivering their first ever joint productions, Yudi, Andre and L Georges present their ‘Brotherhood’ EP.

Charging out of the gate with a ball of energy is the title selection ‘Brotherhood’. Rolling grooves, electronic lines and striking motifs surround the percussive framework, before fuzzy arps and deadly rhythmic elements ultimately steal the show. A touch emotive, it’s rising atmospheres bring grandiose moments, certainly something to elevate of the mood of your dance floor, while a dreamy break perfectly preludes a storming finale.

‘Oluap Aos Day’ rounds the release out in fine style with further peak time leanings. Built around a tight, chugging foundation, it’s fiery energy can’t be overstated, as charged rhythms unite for a crunchy, driving core. Balancing out this electric mood are celestial vocal choirs and airy atmospheres, opening up the production dramatically and ultimately setting the stage for a gorgeous tonal lead. The main break furthers intrigue through it’s atmospheric scope and darker motifs, which not only provide a unique emotional response but make for a well timed energy bridge into an exhilarating third act. It caps off two fresh and inspired cuts from Yudi, Andre and L Georges, who have certainly set the bar high for any future collaborations. Highly recommended.

"The latest release on Tash’s Movement Recordings welcomes Kenan Savrun back to the label for his first EP. The Turkish artist first appeared on the Greek imprint in January of this year with a remix of Gabriel Amato’s ‘Anthrax’. The Ankara resident has compiled an impressive resume since arriving on the progressive scene in 2019. Releases on Ziger’s Eat My Hat, Droid9 and Soundteller Records sit prominently in his discography, while his near two-decade long career as a DJ has seen him share the decks with Alex Niggemann, Eli and Fur, Andy Bros, Victor Ruiz and Oliver Huntemann. Now embarking on one of the most anticipated releases of his career, Kenan returns to Movement with ‘Luminosity’ alongside remixes from Highjacks and John Cosani.

Beginning with the title selection Kenan dives into the pure progressive side of his repertoire. It’s punchy beats and well contoured groove carries a large presence, while waves of percussion and astral themes advance the narrative. As momentum builds, fragmented melodies and murky atmospheres play off each other for dynamic moments. Free flowing into the break, timely modulation adds drama and character to the lead theme, while gaseous sweeps build tension as a timely drop summons the groove for a mystical finale. The companion piece ‘Lights Out’ continues that energetic flow with a driving, hypnotic narrative. A rolling low end sets the track in motion as buoyant themes and lively rhythms move through the framework. Percussive splashes and meditative arps add depth and intrigue, as drifting effects and a glowing theme lead into the main break. Otherworldly yet hopeful, the interlude sits at the core of the storyboard, with fragmented vocals and electric rhythms saturating your senses as a timely drop resets the framework for a spiritual finale.

The lone interpretation of ‘Luminosity’ is provided by Highjacks who make their label debut. The Greek duo have been fixtures of their country’s nightlife for many years, playing many of Thessaloniki's best local venues such as Tokyo City Bar, Thermaikos, Piccadilly, Club Division, Club Vogue and The Real RockNRolla. Also an accomplished production team, the Highjacks discography boasts releases on Balkan Connection, Beat Boutique, ICONYC Noir and Stripped Recordings. Now making their first appearance on Movement, the Greek duo provide an inspired rendition of ‘Luminosity’. Backed by a tough, rolling groove the duo’s detailed drum work and electric rhythms quickly appease the senses. Kenan Savrun - Luminosity (Incl. John Cosani, Highjacks remixes)

PREMIERE: Kenan Savrun - Luminosity (Original Mix) [Movement Recordings]

Deersky’s Soundteller Records welcomes Sinan Arsan to the label for his debut single ‘Ebonise’. Based in Ankara, the Turkish artist first came to out attention late last year with a release on Stellar Fountain’s Astrowave division. Subsequent offerings on Big Bells, Droid9 South America, Future Avenue and Mistique Music have made for a great 2020 thus far. Now following a contribution to Transensations ‘Transenses II’ collection, Sinan lands on Soundteller with a new single alongside remixes from Kenan Savrun and Nacres.

Already known for his trippy progressive sound, Sinan continues to explore that ethos here with ‘Ebonise’. Groovy and atmospheric in equal measure, it’s charged foundation and glassy clusters immediately grab your attention. Spacey arps and driving percussion add momentum across the first act, as vocal wails bring a spiritual context coming into the break. The centrepiece only enhances the meditative qualities of the track, building tension through subtle modulation and bassy swells, before percussive rides spark a huge drop and exhilarating final act.

Fellow countryman Kenan Savrun returns to Soundteller and provides the first remix. Fresh off releases for Another Life Music and Movement Recordings, the Ankara resident goes all out with a fiery peak time interpretation that really delivers. Layered beats, muscular basslines and a vortex of tripped out audio make this a production to get truly lost in. There are few tracks that capture the magic of what progressive music was nearly 20 years ago but this does that quite successfully. Think John Digweed Delta Heavy Essential Mix and this is not far off from what was resonating so strongly at the time. Massive remix from Kenan.

Rounding out the release and completing this all Turkish affair is Nacres who provides the second and final interpretation. Having appeared on the label’s Vibrant Vibeland #10 collection in May of this year, Nacres has also found a home on Bonzai Records, Deepersense Music and Massive Harmony Records. Now returning to Soundteller for his first remix, Nacres puts his own unique twist on ‘Ebonise’. Sitting as a lovely complement to the original the Istanbul resident takes the edge off just a touch for a floaty yet still incredibly groovy interpretation. Meandering synths add just the right amount of tension as they blanket the chugging rhythms and effervescent textures, before getting washed away into a tranquil break and percussive driven finale. A lovely interpretation from Nacres which caps off this exciting release from Soundteller Records, proving that progressive music is still flourishing in Turkey. Highly recommended.

This time we bring on a South American collaboration as we see three different acts team up together with Andre Moret, CRUXZ and JohnnyV and their beautiful “Another View”.

This is a true progressive journey, with evolving melodic arrangements, deep textures and small super fresh vocal additions to flavour and spice things. It’s just evolving through time and we don’t think you should miss this one out for the world.

On remix duty we see new names on the label but both acts are well known in our community. First out is a massive remake from Austria based Der Effekt. Making echoes around the globe through labels such as Beat Boutique, UV, Steyoyoke to mention some. We of course welcome them with open arms getting the opportunity to push Der Effekt through PHW Elements. With true brilliance Der Effect makes a remarkable rebuild from the original ideas and digs deep to bring a more mlody driven techno-ish version. It’s the full artillery of textures and atmosphere to deliver something truly special through our roster.

Argentina and Buenos Aires bound Mayro also makes a debut on the label with another spectacular rework. Quickly getting more and more recognition through his moniker, he surely nails another one here. With deep and emotiv textures, blending between progressive and techno, he strikes with his full plethora of sounds and we couldn’t be happier than what we are. 

The full release is just beyond and most definitely one we are so proud of, awesome guys!
