RIPEcast 2018

This year was the 15th anniversary of Breakfast of Champions. I've been to nearly every one and each time I walk away saying, "That was the best yet!" Well once again, this year was the best yet, with gorgeous weather, excellent DJs, strong drinks, and the vibe was off the charts. I'm incredibly grateful that our glorious little shitshow is still fun, mad, and going strong as ever. 

This BoC landed on #tbt, so I dug up some old tracks to work between a lot of excellent newer breaks for a total of 30 different sounds over 60+/- minutes.

5 Trick Pony Part 2 - Disco Fever

Karl the Fog is the undisputed king of summer in San Francisco. During the month of Fogust (known as August anywhere north, south, east, or west of SF), I played sets with these tracks at a few daytime events including the Daybreaker Summer Boat Party and Wild Feather's long-running Beyond The Fence playa fashion trunk show. My latest party installment party people goes Breakfast of Champions style. Hard hitting fun party breaks more or less. This is my studio recreation as our damn recorder failed us. Originally recorded at Space Cowboys Breakfast of Champions January 1, 2017 outdoor stage at Midway 2 - 3pm.

Elite Force aka Simon Shackleton has had an extensive career spanning over 20 years. Starting off as a musician and being a band member with Thom Yorke before moving onto his own outfit called Lunatic Calm which had quite a successful career and a few number one tunes including "Rollercoaster". Simon has also worked with a bunch of top acts, remixed, wrote movie soundtracks, toured and was one to watch in the Nuskool Breaks scene. He then developed the Tech Funk genre in the late 2000's included with such artists as Meat Katie and Dylan Rhymes to name a few. Nowadays Simon plays marathon 6 hour LIVE sets in his "One Series" and has moved into the world of professional photography.
