Our next premiere is from Mexican label powerhouse @secuencias_temporales with the title track of their next release. This one is delivered from chinese artist  @ctafad. 'Concentric circles' is a slow rising track filled with spacey ambient percussions and shifty melodic production. Brilliantly composed as the track grows in depth and current building to a subtle piece of melodic hypnosis.

Facing the "direction", my energy is like smoke in the environment, and in the world of "music", I am like broken molecules everywhere. I like to use music to explain my encounters, and I make good use of "atmosphere" to collage musical passages and balance sound concepts and musicality. The core of this musical work is "concentric circles", which is the sustenance I find in music.

AF Premiere: CTAFAD - Concentric Circles[Secuencias Temporales][OUT!!09.12.24]

In 2045, researchers at MindTech discovered an anomaly in neural networks used for direct data transmission into the human brain. They called this phenomenon “Phantom Scripts” — mysterious glitches in the code that activate when a person falls asleep or closes their eyes. Deprived of visual stimuli, the brain becomes more receptive and starts responding to internal impulses from the neuro-interface, generating unexpected images and phrases, as if creating messages from the void.

Analysis revealed that these scripts are particularly active during deep sleep or meditation, when the mind is most vulnerable to external influence, as though an intelligent force is attempting to communicate through the subconscious. What lies behind these messages and why they appear remains unknown. Perhaps the answers are hidden in the darkness itself.

Undoubtably our bleakest release yet, they’ll really get you going (to work past a reasonable retirement age) in their grim and grey grooves, baby!

Futuristic and technologically led past the point of return, drowning in a muddy ancient river; the album conjures a world of firing pistons, frightened people and automated production lines.
The downtempo doomsday soundscapes are at once Detroit Electro, London Hardcore, Norwegian Black Metal and (dare I say it) Berlin Techno.

Here's a blurb from the icon himself:

“I wrote this album over a short period of time (about one week) in 2021. At the time I was living in Hackney central, in a relatively small and cold flat next to the loud Mare Street. I was going through a particularly dark and hopeless period of time due to isolation and post lockdown depression.
The windows of the flat were paper thin, vibrating loudly, too often. I had a lots of sleepless nights, which resulted in this record. I worked in a bottling line at the time, the industrial and repetitive, almost dehumanising environment definitely influenced this album.

The music was written fully on my Octatrack (apart for the track “Benders” which was performed with my modular rack). Everything has been recorded in one take as it comes out from the machine, with minimal mixing and mastering and no post production.
The sonic palette features a couple eurorack modules, sampling from Italian television and whatnot; but most importantly a lot of field recording of machineries I found in the factory I was working at, as well as random captures of environments around me - including Hackney’s busy streets - all mangled and arranged in the Octatrack.

Spacelunch (short. spclnch) is a Dutch electronic music label with an emphasis on the dub sound founded in Minsk in 2019 by Thomas Carmody (@thomascarmody). The key ethical principles are an individual approach and a careful selection which allows you to get the best possible from the communication with artists.

The concept of releases is dedicated to a fantastic multimedia universe. The space adventures of Spacelunch and Cat unfold in episodes of an interactive musical comic. Each of them has an original script, and they are connected by a consistent storyline.
