Decades of musical obsession always finds him listening, dancing, on aux duty, playing jazz piano, producing, digging in dusty crates, reading & discussing music journalism, and always burrowing down the next musical rabbit-hole for the rush of uncovering that next great track.  

Through a lifetime of quasi-religious concert attendance, passionate study of the dancefloor, and ten years of spinning himself, he has fostered a unique love and appreciation for the magic only a discoball and a DJ can provide – love he feels compelled to share with any who will listen. 

In every endeavor, AZZA seeks to create a story with others by journeying through the deep, dreamy, spiritual, hypnotic, and groovy with friends of twenty years and twenty seconds alike.

The Interstate 55 project was born of a friendship between two young French and American students in 1995, during a warehouse party on the south side of Chicago. Press correspondents for Coda and Trax Magazine between Paris and Chicago for 3 years, the two guys helped promote the Midwest sound in Europe. Interviews with the biggest legends such as Paul Johnson, Derrick Carter, Cajmere, Gemini, Boo Williams, Dance Mania Crew. The duo also helped to book many Chicago DJs on the Paris scene for public and private parties, and bookings on major radio stations.

25 years on from the best parties, Interstate 55 is back at the mix to promote underground once again, with current and older sounds, through the finest Radio Shows and the Lake Shore Drive Series. Deep, funky, bumpy, hard, soulful... House music is a reflection of life. It's a trip. This SoundCloud page is a tribute to all our friends who have lived and are still living this story deep inside themselves.
