My old mac  dieth a death so here's a bit of a kitchen table bash around .   My fingers are not what they were so i play what i can find.  someday I'll probably wind up bashing out a beat with my head on the refrigerator and singing along. I hope you are all well. If you're dead you'll obviously know it's nothing to worry about...                                I woke up this morning or at least I think that I did...I found my medication and I wrestled with the lid....my bathroom mirror is telling me that I'm not half the man I used to be.....

. I've got a hole in my gut I'm really feeling my age, I'm paying the price for my wicked little ways, I was out last night with a woman from the moon, she says that better days are coming and they're coming soon but I ain't half the man I used to be.

The story:
I wrote this song on my acoustic guitar and started to record it that way, but just wasn't getting the vibe as I did when played live. I tried various ways to get it down with the guitar including an electric...nope, nothing happening.
So I  then thought maybe it wants to be a piano song but my wooden, plonkey key skills were not up to the task. About this time I was thinking possibly the song was not that good. Maybe I was feeling the emotion from the lyrics and not the melody. So I decided to play it at the next open mic, along with two other new songs and I asked the audience to pick which to record next. They all said this one.  On the way to sit back down Alise, who I knew was an amazing piano player, said, "Thats a beautiful song". So, I tried my luck and replied, "I'm just not getting it down with the guitar, what the song needs is a classically trained pianist, anyone spring to mind?" Alise smiled and said, "I would love to be involved". I was tickled pink.

Another Day

God I hope you hear me – hope I don’t go unnoticed – I plan to be defiant – because you need to hear this – you yourself have vanished – and we’re all stumbling through our lives – when left to our devices – we’ve proven to fail every time
I always thought you were a holy roller – till the day that I got to know ya – turn your back on me I understand – after all you’re the only one who knows who I really am – but turn your back on the best I got a problem I’m gonna say what I feel that’s how you made me aint gonna save me  if you don’t like too bad – sorry god you took all I had
You are my god-  but if this is what you choose – to let it come to an end – I have to let you know – I will begin again – cause I’ve been down before-  always swimming towards the shore – and I’ll be on dry land – when your wave comes crashing in
