DJ Afterthought - Alone(Ft. FLO)

Immortal Contact was a transformative journey into the depths of my soul where I was called to utilize every resource that I had in order to bring this song to full fruition. I worked with the pallet of samples that were provided by Mad Zach, used samples from Splice, and created my own sound in these works.  I included vocal performances from Karra and Rudeboy MCs that I thought fit the theme of the project along with reflecting on what was happening in my life. This song is a story about love, loss, perseverance, strength, and resilience.  On our path, we will find ourselves experiencing the highest of highs along with the lowest of lows, but may we find power and have faith in knowing that life is always happening for us, giving us the resolve to continue moving forward, towards our highest vision that we have for ourselves.  I would like to acknowledge ill Gates, Spiderhound, Seth Drake, Cryptochronica, 6th Street, Hexis, and Clint Moody for their contributions to the co-creation of my debut release and express my deepest form of gratitude for their guidance, mentoring and support. On Cypher 025 - Remix A Dojo Classic, ill.Gates and the Producer Dojo Senseis challenged the community to reimagine their classic songs. The EP starts out with a heavy RIP KENNY remix of 6TH STREET ft. Liz Bezler’s haunting, “Choose.” Catawompus then takes a turn reimagining “Blackout by ill.Gates+Spiderhound+Ego Splitter. Slowform then comes through with a vibey version of the ill.Gates Mega Collab “Cthulhu.” 6TH STREET delivers a fun banging remix of ill.Gates’ Nitro next and the EP finishes up with Luke Rain and Schuz putting a fun twist on Spiderhound’s “I Love You Like.”
