I actually improvised this entire thing on violin and viola. I keep getting requests to write it out. Maybe ill get around to it soon :)

This piece was inspired  by a trip to York Railway Museum some years ago, and the enormous Chinese locomotive on display: the KF7.

I imagined what would it be like if such a monster of a machine was possessed by the Devil himself, and the chaos and carnage it would leave in its wake as it hurtled along the railway line. 

This piece has been composed using orchestral samples and some electronica for sound FX. The sound of the train driving forward was created using clusters of  double basses and cellos.

Here's a feels-worthy melody that many are familiar with. I wanted this particular arrangement to emit a dark and painfully gripping tone, yet also expresses a sense of beauty and peace that inevitably evaporates into nothingness.
