This song is a combination of two styles that have influenced me the most: 90s "Electro Rock"  like Beck, Chemical Brothers, Fat Boy Slim, Beastie Boys etc and "60s Blues Rock" like CCR, Kinks, Beatles, Doors, The Who and Led 
Zep.  I wrote/played/sang and produced it myself.  It uses real guitar, sampled based drums and 3 different synthesizers.  Current bands I like to compare myself to include: Tobacco, Jaguar Ma, Battle Tapes.

Yes I was alive in the sixties and, at the time, remember thinking that I had everything sorted about how my life would pan out. I didn’t really think beyond the age of 30 - it seemed so ancient – and therefore felt I’d got plenty to fit in before my ensuing dotage. Alongside the plan to be in a band with my two brothers, I was also convinced I was going to be a professional footballer, so those would no doubt have been busy but assuredly fun times. 

Sadly, I didn’t become a professional football player - that’s plans for you - and though I played a little bit of guitar, very few people then knew of my musical desires. My two very talented brothers didn’t have a clue that I had such aspirations and it took until the early eighties before I became brave enough to write a song and play it to them.

I loved the 60’s, and look back on it all with enormous fondness – it was a great time to be alive.  But so is now and, even though I’m well into my sixties, have so many reasons to be happy in simply being alive – my beautiful wife and wonderful kids to name but two.

Finally, we owe a massive thank you to Hans for producing another stunningly brilliant backing track.  Thank you for everything, my friend.

Following an online conversation I had had about keeping first vocal takes; ie keeping it real: I hadn't even really worked out how to sing this! It was first thing in the morning hence the un-oiled larynx on the opening phrase, so it was down to feeling my way through! Be gentle, but only For Awhile...
