absolutely on music kicks off the 2023 season with Hamburgers Melina and Jakob Seidensticker, who co-run the label We R The Aliens, an exclusive playground for the artists' preference of eclectic music neither bound to genres nor time and space and therefore is synonymously and predestined for the label. With own releases on labels like Housewax, Feuilleton or Minibar - just to mention an abstract of Jakob and Melina's discography - the both have managed to remain on top of their game and spread their artistry for years. In absolutely on music's first episode of the year the artists' speak about routines, their label, how they go involved with music, studio works and give us a sneak peak of the upcoming We R The Aliens release. The interview with Jakob is accompanied by a two hour-lasting B2B of the two as well as an hour full of House Music by Torture the Artist-head and host of the show Holger Breuer.

French label head, producer, promoter and DJ, Maco has cultivated a unique corner of the European underground community for himself. As a direct result of tireless dedication to electronic music the BienAimer Music and Variant boss has given a voice to some of the most forward thinking artists of the scene, himself included. By way of his own jumping warehouse parties, essential DJ sets at the likes of fabric, Egg London, Fold, The Cause, New World Festival, Especial Festival, buy on sight releases on Signatune, BienAimer Music and Variant, Maco has positioned himself very much as an artist on the rise and one to watch.

With a lengthy rap sheet in the club scene, Maco has garnered an extended collection of sounds along the way. For his InSession submission he also covers a lot of ground, from upbeat bangers, low end weapons to riddim fuelled party starters this is a mix to be listened to as loud as you can without the authorities kicking down your door. Keep a watchful eye on Maco as he has all manner of events and releases up his sleeve for the wamr sunny summer months and beyond.

Ewan Smith has been operating as Youandewan in the shades of dance music for some time now, although his name’s been doing the rounds more frequently than ever over the last few months. His debut album 'There Is No Right Time' placed in many 2016 round-up lists as one of last year’s best full-lengths, and saw him broadening his horizons well beyond his textbook deep house palette. 

After growing up in Yorkshire, Smith relocated to Berlin to make music a number of years ago. Listening to this promo mix, that doesn’t entirely come as a surprise either: rolling and understated, it’s in some ways reminiscent of a sound currently played by the city’s stronghold of so-called minimal DJs.

But there’s also an unmistakably UK-based sound to Smith’s music too, which has been nurtured perhaps most significantly by his relationship to Aus Music. As we prepare to host Youandewan as part of the 10-year celebration of Will Saul’s imprint, he fired us over this mix to give some idea of the kind of thing he’ll be bringing over from Berlin on 3rd February.

After 9 months we finally welcome our first female to the channel and this mix is an absolute cracker! We love how Annina always supports our channel & after stumbling across one of her mix's and falling in love with her sound, we couldn't help ourselves but to ask her to join our series. 

Raver at first and foremost, Annina developed unconditional love for electronic music on the dance floor. After working as a promoter for various well known underground music parties in Sydney, Australia, she got to experience the art of mixing herself. Annina’s style is a mix of deep tech, minimal and groovy house music. She is currently based in Berlin.
