“Endings” is a setting of a Derek Walcott poem. The poem’s images of loss and closure are reflected musically by schmaltzy cadences and terminating processes.

A teaser clip/extract - on August 4th I will be improvising a live viola part over a fixed electronic track as part of Anna Murray's Kontakt:Play gig in Kaizen Bar

This is part of a series of partly-improvised sketch performances which will hopefully lead to a finished viola and tape piece at some point (my first one since 2010!!)

The electronics are partly derived from playing around with granular synthesis of some speech, some of my chamber music and some piano improvisations. all of this is over a bed of sound and harmony made from an exxxxxxtremely slowed down string quartet recording
