A passionate explorer of club culture, who recently turned to mixing to share the energy he’s always found on the dancefloor. His UK-inspired sets blend NUKG, breaks, future garage, all bass music forms, deconstructed rhythms and a wide range of techno — all with the same goal: to keep people moving with open hearts. Still fresh behind the decks, he brings all his energy into crafting journeys where emotion is always at the core.

Is dark funky back? Kaval is working hard to revive this more or less forgotten genre.

In contrast to the enthusiastic nature of most of the tracks in the main UK Funky genre, the darker sub-genre has a much more ominous atmosphere and more minimalist rhythms. Sometimes very Uk funky, sometimes close to grime, Uk techno, early dubstep or even hard drum. It's this side that I wanted to revive by concocting these tracks at different tempos.

Always using my usual process: MPC, Samples, Ragga-Dancehall vocals, Drums , texture & video game sfx!

The latest EP from bass music producer and label friend Destrata lands on Club Designs with a sound that’s deeper, heavier and more techno-driven than anything the label has released before.

Fresh off acclaimed releases on !K7, Scuffed Recordings and Martyn’s 3024 Records, the Vancouver-based producer sharpens his focus here on techno framework, layering complex percussion with dense, low-end pressure.

The release also includes 2 collaborations with label founder Garneau. The tracks carry Destrata’s detailed production front and centre, while Garneau’s ghetto house grit simmers in the background, creating a dark-room atmosphere built for heavy systems.

On remix duty, GREAZUS twists one cut into a bass-loaded global club weapon, while ZDBT delivers the EP’s most striking moment: a sleek and deep techno-fuelled reimagining that refracts Club Designs’ Detroit electro roots through a 4x4 lens.

Overall, the EP signals a bold shift for the label into a leaner, tougher, and more techno-focused, while still retaining the experimental spark that defines its catalogue.

'Bite The Hand That Feeds You' is the debut EP from Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Jasmín. Blending genres, moods, and eras, it draws on her Dutch-Argentinian roots while channeling the nostalgia of teenage discovery: "that formative era of girlhood where you're growing up online and building your world digitally." Across three tracks, Jasmín explores the tension between this lasting inner world and the harsher realities outside, weaving techno, bass, and dub into percussion-driven music defined by both force and introspection.

Two tracks feature London-born, Lisbon-based artist Older Brother, whose vocals move between meditation and proclamation. 'Overdriven' was built on Jasmín's original instrumental, while 'The Ride' emerged from reworking a fragment of its vocal. Together, they highlight her ability to transform personal dialogue into public expression – music that invites both reflection and release, as much to ponder as it is to dance to.
