Comment Check with Jacquees

Comment Check is the new SoundCloud series where artists react to comments that have been left under their tracks. Since SoundCloud is the only streaming platform that enables fans to directly connect with their favorite musicians through likes, replies, and comments, we give artists the chance to respond to our favorites. On this episode of Comment Check, watch Georgia’s Jacquees — known for crafting unapologetically sensual R&B tracks and collaborating with some of the most influential artists in hip-hop and R&B alike — react to what people feel when they listen to his most popular songs on SoundCloud.

Dubbed the “King of Bedroom” music by fans, Jacquees first hit the music scene in 2007 at just 13 years old, competing in local talent shows to hone his craft and build his career. As he continued elevating his musical prowess, the singer, songwriter and rapper developed the ‘Quemix’ series that he shared on SoundCloud. Putting his own spin on popular songs with a smooth, melodic twist did wonders for putting the world on to his sound.

By 2014, he’d caught the attention of Birdman and signed with Cash Money Records. That same year, he also dropped his ‘19’ EP that hit No. 15 on the US Billboard Top R&B Albums and featured some of the biggest names in R&B like Chris Brown and Lloyd.

In 2016, Jacquees hit his stride — he collaborated with Birdman on the EP ‘Lost at Seaand also made audiences lust over his love-making skills on the track, “B.E.D.” The next year, he collaborated with DeJ Loaf for ‘Fuck a Friend Zone,’ which included standout tracks like “At the Club,” and then, he went on to release his first studio album, ‘4275,’ , in 2018. The project swiftly resonated, becoming certified gold by the RIAA and crowned a masterpiece by social media.

In the time since, Jacquees has crowned himself the “King of R&B” as he’s released a steady stream of lustful projects — his latest being 2024’s ‘Baby Making.’ The 10-track project is all about what really happens in the stork story that your parents told you about, exploring a range of themes and emotions clearly reflected in the project’s apt title.

His music has a tendency to garner all sorts of attention from captivated fans — evident in a recent comment that reads, “Jacquees, you can wake me up any time baby.” With a knowing smirk and stare at the camera, the singer replies with a simple question: “What time do you want to be woken up?”

Jacquees continues to wow the world with his music that may make him seem like he’s primarily focused on what happens between the sheets, but he makes it clear that he’s actually on the hunt for lasting love. When a fan says that they’d love for him to be their next “baby daddy,” he responds that he’s instead looking to be “husband material.”

But don’t get it twisted — Jacquees practically blushes and bites his lip when he reads comments about how his music impacts those who listen to him. One comment has a fan admit they bring themselves pleasure when listening to him, another declares that people in general get aroused when they hear his music. With a chuckle, he admits that he loves the comments. It’s all about the music at the end of the day.
