On this edition of Comment Check, watch Queens rapper Lil Tecca react to funny and supportive comments from fans about his most popular songs on SoundCloud.
As a former First on SoundCloud artist, Lil Tecca’s story began on the platform and is a testament to SoundCloud’s history of giving emerging artists a place to grow and engage with their audience organically. Since 2017, the Queens-born rapper, now 22, has been releasing hits like “500 lbs.”

Lil Tecca first uploaded his breakout single, “Ransom,” to SoundCloud in 2018, and the track swiftly became viral peaking on the Billboard Hot 100 at #4 for 31 weeks. In the years that followed, tracks including “Love Me,” “HVN ON EARTH” (with Kodak Black) and “LOT OF ME,” to name a few, cemented his rise as an up-and-coming artist, with his initial upload to SoundCloud becoming the catalyst to his successful career.
