Cass (UK) - Gothamania (Circulation Remix) | Stripped Recordings

Paul Davis is a name that might not readily trip off the tongue these days, but dial back 15 years and his Circulation project (alongside erstwhile partner Matt Jackson) was a hugely successful electronic act that toured the world and was responsible for an iconic series of colour-related dancefloor bangers, from Green right through to their final act as a duo in 2005. 

His first release for 15 years came out last October via Argentinian label Electronic Groove under the name Paul Davis aka Circulation. He’s now simplified his moniker down to Circulation. Already working on vocal tracks with various singers (among them Ricky Bar-row, formerly of The Aloof), his music has noticeably matured from his days as part of of the original duo; the sound is less impulsive, the tracks drawn out (almost languid) but without removing their foot from the dancefloor power. He may well have been away awhile but expect to hear much more of Davis over the coming year: now fully back in Circulation.

In an era of hype and overstatement, it’s rare to find an artist who genuinely lives up to it. Cass is one of those rare exceptions. A defining voice in the golden age of progressive house, his deep, rolling beats captivated clubbers without the need for confetti cannons - just pure, immersive sounds that kept dance floors moving till dawn - BIG records, small b. With over 150 tracks and remixes to his name (either on his own, or collaborating with brilliant artists in the studio) , Cass’ work has been featured on more than 200+ compilations, including Sasha’s seminal Global Underground Ibiza and John Digweed’s GU Los Angeles. His lauded Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 (as part of Cass&Slide), was one of the standouts of the year, and with the track ‘Giant’ as Essential New Tune shortly after, he’s only one of a handful of DJ/producers to have both illustrious credits to his name. After a decade of producing and touring around the world, Cass eventually pivoted behind the scenes, redefining his career as the founder/CEO of OurSecretLab, a boutique creative agency with a client list spanning Nike, Estée Lauder, Bang & Olufsen, Lewis Hamilton and David Beckham in the mixer… with music always a huge part of the creative delivery. Now, some two decades after his first wave of success, Cass returns to the UV limelight with an arsenal of new audio battle weaponry - ready to fuel a new generation of clubbers as they dance into the night, and on… In a world of overstatement, ‘watch this space’ has never been more fitting. Digital Slag is a BreakBeat DJ based in Preston, Lancashire who has been DJ'ing for a number of years having played at infamous nights such as 'Lowdown & Dirty' in Manchester & 'Monster Monster' in Barrow, having had the privilege to have performed alongside acts such as Krafty Kuts  and The Dub Pistols. 

Digital Slag was BPM DJ of the month June 2012 and September 2013 he was also one of the runner's up at BPM for 'DJ of the year' competition 2012 and 2013
