Vampire

I heard Dido's song White Flag on a soft rock radio station almost every day for at least 3 months. The melody buried itself in my brain and at some point I started to think it would make an interesting shoegaze track. I'm not quite sure if I was right, but here it is regardless.

[Recorded in March 2005 in a basement with only two microphones and very cheap gear. Remixed in 2016 hoping to salvage the performance.]

White Flag (Dido goes shoegaze)

Only after I played the riff on a piano did I fully realize the brilliance of Interpol's decision to divide up the chords of Untitled between the guitar and bass. In 2005 I tried recording a version on piano for kicks, and just to make things even more fun, I did three separate drum takes and threw them all in at the end. It's pretty slapdash but I had fun doing it.
