In 2230, aboard the reconnaissance vessel Eremiel NS-13, a strain later classified as Blightcode was discovered in sector Lono-18. A month later, the vessel stopped responding. The onboard intelligence LUMI transmitted a distress signal, but no reply came from Earth. After a long silence, it initiated manual control and released a specialist in biology and psychiatry from cryosleep, designated Null Echo.
