EXTEND is proud to present a new mix from Skjöld. Shrouded in mistery, the project is hidden behind the concept of "minimalism".

Released mostly of the productions on Edit Select, Skjöld recently signed on the legendary Jeff Mills' Axis Records with the EP "Mars Exploration Program".

The approach of Skjöld in music it's to strip everything down to its essential quality and achieve simplicity, avoiding the unnecessary and embracing the most fewer sound. Enjoy this hypnotic journey through his deep minimalistic techno.

Grown in the midst of Finnish spruce forests and the long and cold nordic winters, Latmos pours these elements into his mind entwining techno tracks.

The sound of Latmos is known from it's warm and weighty basslines, cavernous soundscapes and highly detailed synth motifs. His music holds a hypnotic quality without osing drive for the dancefloor; music for both body and mind.

Latmos records every track in real-time with sounds coming from various hardware synthesizers. With this very hands-on approach in music production Latmos aims to create the sence of something being ”alive” in his music. The synth sounds of Latmos are ever- evolving and interacting with each other like being part of a living organism.

Latmos has released music on various labels such as: Subosc, Fur:ther Sessions, Blacklabel Distillery and Cinus. His music has also been remixed by deep techno pioneers Mike Parker and Samuli Kemppi.

The music of Latmos has been played by highly respected DJs like: Oscar Mulero, P.E.A.R.L., Dimi Angelis, Patrik Skoog, Denise Rabe, Magna Pia, Eric Cloutier, Vincent Neumann, Dino Sabatini and Blazej Malinowski to name a few.

As a DJ Latmos is able to adapt into various venues and scenarios. He is always bringing something fresh to the table and keeping the listeners always on their toes.

For our very first podcast episode, we are eager to welcome Kamen, who will kick things off with a 1-hour mix.

Kamen’s recent productions have been making waves in the French techno scene, with two EPs being released on Grenoble label .inphase and on Electric Rescue’s Skryptöm imprint as well as another more recent release on PRTL WRX. He’s also heavily implicated in OSS Records and GRS Techno, having co-founded both labels and organised events in French cities such as Rennes, Le Mans or Nantes.

1/2 Modern Minimal Subtil" is a minimalist and ethereal techno composition, characterized by delicate and refined sound textures. It's built around light, almost elusive rhythmic patterns that weave gently through a futuristic soundscape. The bass is  deep but subtly restrained, allowing melodic and percussive elements to express themselves with crystal-clear precision.

The synths might evolve slowly, creating atmospheric layers that float in the background, while sharper sounds—like clicks or claps—add a touch of dynamism without ever dominating the composition. Transitions would be smooth, almost imperceptible, giving the listener a sense of drifting through infinite sonic spaces.

"Subtil" is an exploration of subtlety in electronic music, where each element is carefully placed to create an immersive and introspective experience.
