Hi, I'm Matteo Zandonella Bolco, the human behind Sunset Surrender! My music is a proper genre smoothie, blending 80s-inspired Synth-pop, New Wave, Post-punk, Dream Pop, and Surf Rock into something uniquely my own. It’s a reflection of my life’s journey—moving across the globe, searching for a sense of belonging, and finding solace in the notes that connect us all.

Each track I create is a piece of that journey, where upbeat and catchy rhythms meet deeper, introspective themes. I believe music has the power to comfort and connect us, especially when life throws its challenges our way. That’s why I pour my personal struggles and hopes into every song, aiming for it to become the soundtrack to someone else’s story too.

I draw inspiration from a wide range of artists, but what truly shapes my sound is a feeling the Japanese call “Natsukashii”—a bittersweet nostalgia for a past that never really existed. It’s about those moments that tug at your heart, making you feel connected to something bigger, even if you can’t quite put your finger on it. That’s what I strive to capture with Sunset Surrender—not just music, but a shared emotional experience.
