Bazil's production started with his rolling atmospheric D&B. Influenced by the nineties "tech-step" era, in particular the likes of early Virus & Subtitles, blended with his own unique sound that he has been progressively carving out since his early releases on labels Dispatch. Flexout, Full force, to name a few. Fast forward to the present you can see this sound represented under his alias Surgence.
 You can hear a new sound under the Bazil identity today. Expect Dubby infused half speed beats using multiple genres with Jungle influences, electronics & Rave sounds.  A new album due in June 30 with vocalist Izness and legendary singer Earl 16.  His latest releases on Dreadzone's label Dubwiser with tracks such as 'Ganjaman' and 'Change'. Bazil has been supported by Break, Loxy, Survival, Ant TC1, Octane & DLR as well as BBC 1Xtra exposure from DJ Bailey. Don Letts played Bazil Ganjaman on his BBC show. The last decade he has been sharpening the dynamics to the Dreadzone Sound. He is in control of the technology for the band. Whilst Honing his skills as a mix engineer Bazil co-mixed the Top 40 Dreadzone album 'Dread Times'  He has successful remixes behind him teaming up with Dreadzone on Dub Fx's track 'In My Head'  Also a well received remix of 'Zion Youth' and 'Fire in the Dark' by Dreadzone. Recent music has had BBC radio support from Don Letts.

You might not recognise the name but you will have definitely heard Surgence in the past. He operates under the name Bazil and has been a member of Dreadzone for over 10 years. Here he settles into his latest alias with these special pre-release tracks on Dublin label inHabit. Mood Planet and Isolate VIP carry his dub stylings but hit with a much heavier, techier bedrock. First release on Subplate recordings was out May 10th 2019, shortly followed by his Shapeshift EP on Voyage music supported by SkankandBass and dnbdojo.
